I wish there was more content for stills photography on this camera. It really does seem like a versatile little camera.

The ZV1 is an awesome little camera. I feel it was just marketed wrong as a vlog camera. It should have been thought of as a mini beginner hybrid camera with its photo capabilities. Can even dabble in a little astrophotography with it to an extent

I feel the same way. I recently bought it as a pocketable alternative to my a6600. Every video I saw prior to buying it was about vlogging, so I am glad to see more photo focused content about this camera.

For photography what would you recommended - Sony ZV1 or Sony RX VII?

Thank you for making this! It’s been so hard to find videos on this camera geared toward photography & your work is excellent! I’m excited to purchase mine!😇

Hi - unfortunately I actually sold the ZV-1 to fund my A7IV. But lots of photo tips videos coming and tbh all rules apply to most cameras. :)

thanks ...I hope you make more vids with the zv-1

I actually sold it to help fund the A7IV. But lots of these videos apply to ZV1 ownership as well. For example this video could apply to any camera and not just the ZV-1

Hey Jack, thanks for the great advice! Which picture profile do you use when shooting photos? I find that the default one gives me colors that are a bit too saturated, and it looks unnatural to me. I use S-Log2 when shooting videos. Would you recommend the same for photos?
@JackWoodhams29 күн бұрын
Just shoot in RAW and then the colours aren't baked in. Then use Lightroom or any software to edit. I used my pastel preset: jackwoodhams.com/product/pastel-contrast-lightroom-cc-preset/

I'd personally avoid going below 1/150 if shooting street photography

Nice pictures and video, thanks! I can't decide between an RX100 V and ZV1 for a pocket camera, mostly for stills. I'm used to a Canon 6D ergonomics but want something better than the smartphone in the pocket. Do you find the lack of EVF and built in flash a big deal here? Screen usable outdoors in bright conditions? I think this might be better than tilt screen for low angle shoot and vloging for sure but apart from that, not sure.. I'll be shooting mostly during hikings with it Manual mode isn't a pain with the lack of dials on this one?
@JackWoodhams Жыл бұрын
I don't currently own the zv1 but I can say that. 1. Never had an issue with no EVF. The screen is good enough in most situations but in very bright daylight will struggle. 2. Manual mode is fine, there is a dial on the back and you can change iso, shutter speed and aperture with that. 👍

@@JackWoodhams so as my first photography camera can i go with Sony zv 1??
@basharhere2726 Жыл бұрын
Is it worth it to buy it as a first camera although i can take pretty good shots..
@basharhere2726 Жыл бұрын
Which one u bought?
@BornIntoThis20 Жыл бұрын
@@basharhere2726 ZV1, no regrets for stills photography. The screen is enough in sunlight and the articulating screen more useful than I thought. Quick access custom menus also helps for the ergonomics and the lack of dial wheels.

Question: what editing app - software do you use to edit your RAW photos? Found a few ones but they only supper the Sony ZV-10 and don't know if it would work the same for the ZV-1
@JackWoodhams Жыл бұрын
If it's raw files it's raw files 🤷🏻♂️ I use lightroom
@georgealberto1985 Жыл бұрын
@@JackWoodhams Yeah but Sony has the ARW extension and depending on the sony camera the editing software could support it or not. I think lightroom supports all camera models. Thanks!

The sensor size is only 1 inch, must be not so good in lowlight.
