I grew up in Coarsegold back in the 80’s. Moved up to Seattle when I was 12 and have missed that town ever since. Fresno not so much but Oakhurst and Coarsegold have a lot of memories

I grew up in Lompoc in the 80's & 90's. It was a Awesome place. We had the River Bed to ride in. Movies theaters to go to. Drive-in theater. OPEN Beaches. Fishing at River Park. Mud Bogs in the River Bed. As many cool Shops & Stores as you could Imagine. Houses were Priced properly. Missile Launches. Air Shows, & just Grate places to hang out. Christmas was a Amazing time in Lompoc. Christmas 🎄 Tree stands would pop up all over. Stores were Exciting to shop in. Things were just Different. We would ride our bikes all over town & Never worried about anything. I mived away to Houston Texas in 2001 & Came back HOME in 2012. Man Had the Town Changed. Drive-in Gone. A st washed away & never rebuilt. Homeless camps everywhere. Housing prices WAY Overpriced. Beach Closed. Most of the Fun stores Gone. I was so Sad to see My Home Town in such Bad shape, Over run with crime & drugs. There NEEDS to be a Change in the City Officials to Bring Back the ""Home Town Feeling" i Left again in 2013 & have Not gone Back. My family still lives there & i wish it would go Back, to the way it Used to be. 😢 There ARE So Many GREAT People Still in Lompoc. I Just Wish it had been Better taken care of. #LompocPride #LompocLove

I’ve lived in Clovis all of my life. Been to the lake numerous times throughout the years. Walked the damn, the trails and by the old school house. I’ve fished below the dam on the San Joaquin River at lost lake and driven past the ruins of the old cement bridge. Clovis Highs Track team use to run at Winchell Cove that was a workout. There is even a ghost story of a woman walking on Millerton road in a white dress. A very small cemetery many unmarked graves above the lake most reinturred here from Fort Miller. Lots of history up there.

I know Nacho and I miss his food. I used to eat there when it was Nicks. But when the Pho guy bought the restaurant he remodeled it and took away all our memories that we grew up with. I'm 51 years old. I went to that restaurant restaurant since I was a kid. He just took out all the memories that we had and just made it look like this generic looking place with horrible annoying lighting And this lamp in the back that you have to look at the bulbs it's like this sphere hanging from the ceiling. He took out most of the tables which makes it hard for bigger people like myself who have a hard time sitting in the booths. He killed a landmark and our memories. He could have just bought the place and kept it looking like the home it was to many of us. I will never eat there. It breaks heart and I used to eat there 2 or 3 times a week.

Great video. Spent time with my wife before we were married with her family who rented a cabin owned by the principal of a school in El Monte. His last name was Fickeworth and we called it the Fickeworth cabin. This was in the early 60's. The cabin was two stories with a shower in a basement that the girls hated because it was dark and scary. We had to bring "church clothes" to attend mass or the priest would not allow you in. Talk about changing times. Still looks idyllic and inviting.

We used to live nearby. I remember the local community being concerned about how much water Silver Lakes would consume. We sold up in 1985, the water table was dropping and we feared that our home would become worthless

I lived there for a few years. My uncle still has his two houses right on 66. Silverlakes is really nice. But it has a bit of rift raft. If your looking for it. Drugs. But very little. No where is perfect. I was not into that kinda crowd like my sister. So I saw the beauty! I would live there again any second of any day! But the catch 22 to live there is a HUGE HAO that's super strict. You have to pay to use any amenities including the lakes. And are super strict about the out side of houses. There is only grass for the richer ones! 😑 So love rocks! Lol And gets really hot. So you are gonna want to use that lake! But bonus is, it has it's own schools that are really good! T ball fields.Anything you need is there with in the walls of the community. Our house was on the main road across from north lake.Everybody brings their kids from all over to trick or treat! Like 600 to 800+ kids! I loved it but some of the old folks didn't. It's one night and then they all leave. But I think it's worth it! Truly out of the rat race but close enough to see Dr.s and hospitals and do shopping. ❤

It aint like it used to be. Corrupt cops and tweekers running wild terrorizing the normal folk. No offense to the ones that mind their own and dont rob people of things from outside lightbulbs to mail and knock on doors in the middle of the night while they rob your back yard ect ect. I bought a new construction there in 2008 for 36Gs on a HUD load because i was the only one stupid enough to biy owner occupied. Couldnt get out of the place quick enough. Had i not paod so little, it would had been the worse move of my life. I wouldnt do it again if i could.

Went to Traver school from Kindergarten until I graduated from there in 8th grade. I did a history project on it in 5th grade. Traver was once considered to be the capital of CA because of the vastness of wheat. (Lol the video probably already stated this, but i don't have the volume up.) So much has changed there.

I was born and raised in the Gardens! miss it so much. i always visit my Aloha elementary, lived in Hawaiian Gardens apts. hung out on Juan ST. some of my greatest and scariest moments of my life. hated they changed the name of Killingsworth, but i did know the principle they named it after, he was cool, i was in his office a lot.. haha! I left in 1991. anyone who was there during the 80's and 90's hope your all doing great!. sadly many friends either died or ended up in the pinta. happy I got out when i did, i guess.
