This kinda worked for me. I flipped the ps4 on it's side and inserted the disc, still didn't read it. So I gave up inserted the disc and flipped it to the normal position then it magically worked😂

Good news: Opening your electronics does *not* void your warranty unless you break something in the process, no matter how many stickers are on it. Refer to the Magnusson-Moss Act of 1976. A few years ago, the FTC specifically clarified this.

Just chiming in to say that your fix still works on my PS4 slim after doing it pretty much everyday for the last 2 years. My PS4 started to behave in early 2021, and since then it stayed on the vertical position. Thanks a lot for your help!
