I sold an item on eBay for £167 (precious metals), and used RM 48 Tracked with £150 compensation. It was marked as delivered and photos taken. Sadly, the buyer said that the item had been stolen out of the bag and uploaded photos showing that the bag was ripped. I checked the RM photos and where the bag was ripped, the postman’s fingers were covering that section of the bag😡 Ebay told the buyer to open an “item not received claim” and after “investigating” refunded the buyer🤔 Did the postman’s fingers were steal it, or did the buyer? I put in a Claim at RM and this is their response: On reviewing your Claim, I am sorry that I cannot offer you compensation for the item due to the service that has been used to send to send a valuable item. Claims for items containing cash, tickets, vouchers/gift cards, jewellery or precious metals are not covered if sent by any other service therefore I am unable to meet your claim for compensation. I appreciate this is not the outcome you were looking for and I hope my explanation has set out why this decision has been taken. However, if you are unhappy with my response you can contact the Escalated Customer Resolution team. …. I’m onto the phone to RM now, while watching your vid! It’s an approx 20 minutes wait.

I'm a new subscriber to your videos and they are excellent. Thank you for all the interesting content. I've not long started my own small (just me) online business on etsy,but I'd really like to learn how to design and sell on a website...yours is very smart! I love vintage glass and vintage costume jewellery but I'd like to learn so much more though. I'm definitely going to check out your tutorial on paintings and art....amongst others! So glad I found your yt channel! Regards,Ruth (UK)

I know this might be useless information, but you were talking about Georgian items from the 1800's in the 18th century. Wouldn't that be the 19th century? No big deal, but just wondering.

Hi thank you for your comment. The wrythern glasses were circa 1760. The champagne flutes 1820. Both Georgian. Some 18th and some 19th century

I love this kind of stuff, it is aspirational and so interesting. This is a superb educational channel for people who want to get into such things. However, many people just need to make quick easy money, and old trainers, 1990s toys et cetera are easier to find and require less brain power. Hence perhaps why Edward doesn’t get as many views as people selling random tat do.

Hi Walter, I just wanted to say hello, I've been a follower of yours for a while. I have been into antiques all of my life as a collector and a re seller, I just wanted to say that I really enjoy your videos and find them really inspiring. I sell on eBay at the moment and it's growing quite well as long as I keep on top of it, my son has built me a website which I will gradually put my better items & personal collection onto, all of this is down to your inspiration so please keep doing what you're doing I always look forward to your new videos 👍 if I see you in Resolven i will pop over to say hello & grab a selfie with you if that's ok Kindest regards Phil Paterson From Llanelli

@@AntiquesArena three very pleasant, good quality, approachable single malt whiskies, ideal for someone who hasn't tried many whiskies and a great introduction to single malts. £15 each is a bargain. I bought the Glengoyne 14yo around 12yrs ago from M&S for about £44 and I believe it was bottled for M&S specifically. Nice one Edward :)

At least this guy is honest about the number of coats needed to cover bare metal. I have worked in the silverware industry for 40 years and having tried this, can confirm that it is a waste of money. It does not give the level of shine you should expect and if you do try to polish it, you are soon back to square one.

It could also be a conversion error on PayPal's end, where some currencies are wrongly calculated to be worth way more than they should, and maybe you got some currency on your PayPal account that has been effected by that. It'll change soon, but it happen to me. My 100usd was somehow worth 1000usd instead in my currency, and the two payouts i did got me the 1000usd instead

Some great finds as usual. The optic vase at 16 minutes isn't Whitefriars. It's got too many ribs and is the wrong shape. It's actually more likely to be Scandinavian in origin, 1930s to 1960s. It's very hard to identify many of these optic vases as several factories made them. Your epergne could be as late as 1920s. Another glass expert (Love Decanters) has found adverts for these designs in 1920s publications. You're dead right on the glass hand. They're never ever Murano.
@AntiquesArena23 күн бұрын
Hi David. Thank you for your comment. Appreciate your help on the optic vase. I will double check that later and alter the listing if I am wrong. With the epergne I have seen them as late as 1900 but never seen them up to the 20s but I certainly wouldn’t argue over that. Thank you for the help as I would rather a listing be correct

Hello & Greetings from Down Under 🦘 Really enjoyed your video, your efforts and time, was greatly appreciated. I couldn't agree with you more Sir, 100% Correct, we should never destroy our history, good or bad, a world without history, is a world not worth living in, a world containing nothing, is a world that hasn't existed, so how can we be here. History is our link to survival, a place that teaches us in many ways, sometimes we learn, yet most times we don't unfortunately..

It's a bad practice to play the "I bought it for " game. Your time is worth a considerable amount and you can't just count your winners. My minimum income target is $500 a day. So making $125 pounds is not even worth mentioning.

@@WondrousThingswithBrianFrench hi. Thank you for your comment. I guess you didn’t watch the video then. I made more than your 500 in a single day.
