Why do the rotors rotate in the same direction? Wouldn't the opposite direction prevent the pilot from having to set permanent trim levels when flying? My pilot friend says it would be too expensive but I don't see why and how that would be the case?

The second you told the story of how Johnson took measurements of a Cadet and then built his improved version called the Swift I was intrigued. Did the designer of the Cadet (Mooney) receive any compensation or credit for his role? A Wikipedia article on the Swift claims the story of Johnson using the Cadet as a template was fanciful yet the very same article contradicts itself and cited the Cadet as the predecessor to the Swift. I then got into a debate with an AI bot that provided even more contradictory information which I would point out, receive acknowledgement that I was correct and offer an apology, and then continue with bogus info. The bot twice stated the Cadet did not have retractable landing gear and cited that as one piece of evidence that the Swift was a unique design attributable to Johnson only. Your own video showed the Cadet with retractable gear and a Wikipedia article also stated that it did. The bot never acknowledged the issue with the landing gear, twice insisting that information available to it on the web stated the Cadet had fixed gear and even got the timeline wrong on the Swift's development which it did acknowledged was incorrect after I pointed it out. Anyway in my opinion the Swift is clearly a derivative of the Cadet based on it's appearance alone and even though I have no idea if the designer of the Cadet ever had any issues with that or if he ever was compensated I wouldn't be surprised if that were true!

Well the 990s engines were based of the J79. Anyone who has seen a F4 Phantom taking off or in flight. I can see why the 990s engines smoked like a coal locomotive.

Hi! Yes it's included in the description along with other videos I sourced for this video. That being said, I will gladly make it more prominent in the description, and will also add a "video card" that pops up when the footage appears. Working on those edits...

Speed isn't everything. Get in an airliner an look out the window. Do you get that feeling of speed? If that is what you want, get a motorcycle. That way, when you get killed, you don't have to take responsibility since it will probably be due to some mom pulling out of the grocery store parking lot and didn't "see" you.

Wonder if you could slap a fuel injected super charged big block in one? Bet it would fly nice with a 750 HP LS. Only thing better would be a turbo prop.

I was an Army Air Traffic Controller in the Mekong Delta of South Vietnam back in 1968 Air America used a number of Couriers in its fleet of aircraft.I recall clearing a Courier for takeoff one afternoon as it climbed out I saw the tail wheel fall off the bird and bounce down our PSP runway,i Told the pilot that he no longer had a tail wheel he said no problem, and flew it up to Saigon and landed in the grass next to the runway ,that bird was back flying again a couple of days later, that was a testament to the rugged design of the Courier!!

I thought the first Business Jet was the Morane-Saulnier MS.760 Paris. It first flew in 1954, while the 119 first flew in 1959. Sure, it wasn't successful as a Business Jet, but neither was the 119.
