20% more fuel with the same jetting. A givin carb jet is gonna deliver the same amount of fuel on the same engine even with a different head. A larger combustion chamber isn't going to let it suck 20% more fuel in, the slant head just won't squeeze it as hard bro. Low comprehension engines like 80's/90's 5.0's are 9.1:1 & will take a ton of ignition timing compared to a high compression 289 hips but the 289 made 271hp & the 5.0 made 225hp. Apples to Oranges?

So the intake (downward) stroke will still pull the same amount of fuel. You are losing combustion chamber volume but it will still pull in the same amount...get me so far? As the piston goes top dead center its gonna SQUEEZE that intake charge more hence "higher compression". To alleviate detonation/ping...what has always been done it to reduce ignition timing. Polishing the combustion chamber like chrome helps a little also by reducing hot spots in that squish area. Furthermore that Puch/pool head obviously has more cooling just by the amount,size of fins and also its air flow down caricature of said fins. A great way to sell your parts is to try and show fault with others products. PUCH has been around the 2 stroke business since probably late 60 but definitely the 70's. Not to be a grump but stick with what you really know. Thank you for turning me onto that PUCH head. With a lil love on that squish band (just polishing) it's a great alternative to alot of high priced cnc poopoo

More compression equals more power more generally across the range. And adjust your timing and increase your fuel octane.

The head gasket on a pouch motor is 5 times thicker than on a motorized bike, ouch did that to lower the compression

the wee thing you were on about was a"wood ruff key", i would like to get an 11-tooth for the front but you`d maybe need to modify the casing at the top. it would be easier to change than the back one.?

What you are saying is somewhat correct. But also not. It's true that having less volume of cylinder head space will reduce the amount of air and fuel that can be drawn into the chamber. BUT the opposing result of having the combined volume of total that can be drawn into the Chamber and then compressed into a smaller area is whats important here. By using the smaller volume head you are increasing your compression ratio. And there for power output should climb almost always. As long as you are using the correct ignition timing and fuel for it. Usually with higher compression you will need to retard the ignition to prevent pre detonation. So basically I am saying you are correct. Except you are worrying about a minute detail that in the bigger picture matters little.

Tighten the head And I haven't got up to start since So I took the head off and there was a lot of oil in between Is the head in the gasket I cleaned everything up Put the headback on and noticed that there's light coming through it I'm hoping I didn't warp my head just can't figure out what's going on And I don't want to Is overtite in my head Is android my engine Is any help would be much appreciated

Bro, you need to readjust the engine so the carb float is level. It needs to go down and tiltedup, front up some, and same for back. It ill run much better, trust me I have built over 42 bikes.

Cool advice do you remove the rubber from both sides of the bearings or just the side facing the inside of the engine
@madeljacky
@madeljacky Жыл бұрын
I remove the seal from the bearing on the two faces towards the inside of the crank case and leave the two outer seals in place, I also leave both seals in the bearings that the clutch shaft runs on to stop contamination of dirt into the bearing.

I wonder if raising the exhaust port could damage the cylinder at high revs per minute, as it gets so close to the limit.. I suppose you must not file so close to the limit.. Am I right, and does porting force the engine to use more gasoline??

TAKE THIS VIDEO OFF OF KZbin!!!! You sir are an IDIOT!!!!! let me explain something to you”kid”. IF you get a black cat firecracker, open your palm of your hand and place the firecracker in your palm of your hand (keep the palm of your hand open and do not close it) then light the firecracker……the firecracker will explode. But try this…..put the firecracker in the palm of your hand and close your hand TIGHTLY with the wick only hanging out….now light it. Your hand WILL be forced open soooooooooooo much harder. That is called COMPRESSION. Kid your probably stupid enough to actually try this, you will get hurt, this is only AN EXAMPLE. Your thinking is not logical. You are giving out false information to people who dont have my knowledge or a true mechanic that whos what compression/force/and explosion is in a nutshell. There isuch more to this then i care to explain. You need to take this video down and off youtube. And tell yourself over and over that you are an idiot for even trying to explain something you have NO TRUE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT.

These engines surprisingly tend to not pre-detonate. I messed with a few heads and ended up shaving the head until the piston kissed the head and wouldn't run. I added a slightly thicker head gasket and the squish was 0.04" and it ran really well. One night during a one mile wide-open run, I looked down and the spark plug was glowing! I bought a colder plug the next day. Oh- I wanted to add that if you bump up the compression a bunch, you can raise the exhaust port ceiling and not lose any low end power while gaining power on the mid and top end.

I find that porting and polishing does increase overall performance based of of my own personal experience and the videos I’ve seen on KZbin. Another benefit to these motors would be to ensure that the cylinders have been honed for a more advanced oil saturation on the metal surface to increase overall lubrication since you’re increasing the surface area by using a honing device.

Take some heat, heat the engine case up and leave the bearings overnight in the freezer. also dont use skf, it has way too much play, use snh if avaivable but skf would work. Never hammer bearings into your engine and if you have to just start with a big block of wood over your bearing and then take a nut the size of the outer ring and slowly make it your way. Also always get your crankshaft trued and balanced or replace it with a already balanced one. My crank has 1/2mm bending. Also if avaible get brown viton sealrings. I didnt do many bicycle engine kits but i buult 20hp+ moped engines(standard 3.5hp)

I have done a reverse jug and placed my intake in the front and my exhaust exiting from the rear..now more air is being drawn into the carb..which has caused my engine to run too lean, so I'm wanting to rejet the carb. to get more fuel in..to compensate for the extra air..I'm currently running 50+ mph but I know that I could get even power out of my engine if my air/fuel ratio was better..my engine will cut out at full throttle and my spark stays white to slightly gray..so I need to richen up the carb..

Wat do you think about milking the reed block mounting surface witch moves reeds closer to crank in turn means less crankcase volume. Aka reed stuffers or when reed stuffers are not available then you mill/shave/plain/deck the reed block mounting face??
