Zombie Island is still by far the best Scooby Doo movie and is up there with Mystery Incorporated as the best Scooby media. Witches Ghost is darn good too. Alien Invaders wasn't quite so good but is carried by Shaggys love story. I've never liked Cyber Chase though.

Have them assuming if he became a singer and then it be revealed he died of diabetes or something. I've seen two of the new Poirot adaptations. They are truly awful. Kenneth Branagh is _terrible_ as Poirot. The direction is bad, the screenplays are bad, the cinematography seems cheap and heavy-handed, the acting is bad, etc. They're just bad. Agatha Christie's plots were always absurd, so those other factors were the only things that made Suchet's version so stellar. The new ones don't hold a candle to the Suchet series.

They don’t need to revive series like this. They need to leave it alone, but knowing Disney, they always got to be greedy about certain stuff that they can ruin, which is why I don’t watch none of their movies. Their new shows any of that.

Big fan of Recess, this is a bad idea. Been too long for a remake, and the ideas they have just whomp. Mikey should have stayed alive. It’s sad what happened to the original voice, but how many actors has Mickey Mouse or Bugs Bunny gone though? Recess is cartoon royalty, the show is bigger than the actors who portrayed them, if they are going to revive the show ( which is a horrible idea in the first place) then at least it’s characters need to live on. Also I hate to be the anti woke guy, but where in the series did it ever hint that Gus was trans? There’s no good reason for it. Also, isn’t the point of Recess being that well, their kids at Recess? The spirt of the show just isn’t there, no Randall to rat, no King Bob, No Kindergarteners, no Finster. It’s not even fundamentally the same show.

havent seen the branagh version because i have seen him doing an adaptation before (years ago, some shakespeare stuff) and i thought it to be full of himself. when you said that the production didnt trust the source material - that is putting my impression the other way around. you cannot take a pretty well rounded source and try to overshine it. well, you might try but there is only a few that really succeed and branagh is no scorsese. i ve put branagh down as a narcissist, the school kid in the background waving his arms to get the audiences attention. hej, and i remember that too. i hated brannaghs adaption of shakespeare too, because he added unnecessary or even distracting stuff. shakespeare is a pretty tight writer, there s barely anything out of place. yet you add stuff?! speaking of copying the mona lisa and adding a grin.

I agree, there can't be another Recess (or Lloyd in Space for that fact). Everyone loves the work of both Paul Germain and Joe Anoslabehere, and their work is good, but their works weren't meant to be re-booted (just look at Rugrats 2021) and others that made a mistake of getting re-booted (looking at you, Proud Family: Louder & Prouder), I wouldn't be surprised if WB tried to reboot Bob Doucette's Kid's WB failure Detention.

There's just no way to make a new Recess as a sequel. It'd have to be a prequel. But honestly, it's a good period piece as is. Taking on the 5th Grade was a good send-off. There's no need for more.

Thank you so much for sharing this with us. I am equally happy that the reboot was not picked up! It sounds like a really bad idea and it strongly misses the point of the original series. Recess is quite timeless and special! I also love the movie and its story. This cartoon will always make me smile and yes it doesn't need a reboot!

Revivals are a great indicator that the current creatives are stuck in the past or have no balls to pitch original ideas, for whatever reason.
