Pretty cool Will! I think it would be interesting to have them almost touch. You would not be able to rotate them but you could lift them off the little shaft and place them how you want. Nice work my friend, Gary

Your process is very similar to mine with only a couple deviations. First, when turning the outside, I do it left handed with a large, lidded garbage can next to the lathe. Doing it this shoots a good bit of the shavings into the can and not on the floor. The second deviation is in hollowing where I drill a depth hole in the center before starting to hollow. Looked like there was part of the pith remaining in blank. Will that be a problem for you later?
@William_Kenny7 күн бұрын
Cheers for watching Stewart, good idea using the garbage can, well spotted on the little bit of pit left in, that bowl has dried very well with no I'll effects, Kind regards From Will 😊👍

Sweet chestnut is one of my favourite woods for colour and grain. Simple but charming. I've not had any green chestnut though. I have been doing some part turning of cherry, ash and silver birch though. I was mixing the pva glue with water. Have you found just pva glue better?
@William_Kenny10 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching Rachel, I mix a tiny bit of water in just to help it spread around a bit, I always put a few coats on it seems to work for me, with the exception of a few causality 😁
@racheldray105710 күн бұрын
@@William_Kenny I'll try doing that then. I shall rummage in the boxes of shavings and smother them in a stronger coat or two.
@GoodWoodsuk.co.uk_ebay10 күн бұрын
