I’ve known of and listened to both musicians for decades. Just found this and have ordered CD. Yes! Can’t stop listening to this track. I’m in Wales UK and this is inspiring my 5th ever trip to USA this spring. Not Wichita however.

This is a beautiful song -- Composed by Henry Mancini, with lyrics by Leslie Bricusse. This was Mancini's second attempt to write the film's theme song. The first attempt was rejected by the film's director (Wow! A Mancini composition being rejected!). Regrettably, I don't care at all for Metheny's rendition. It suffers from what I hear far too often from musicians -- a pathetic attempt to show off, and make themselves more important than the music. In the jazz world I characterize this as a contest to see who can play the most notes in the shortest period of time. Here's an excellent description of the film and music: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two_for_the_Road_(film)

THESE ARE REAL Men!!! I did not crash, but I am observer. OH, I do wish, and palpitaiions of the heart, Always so true. As a sculptor, I know hands. Woman and Man. You can not mask them. I do not prophecies, I reveal the same message fiven 2,000 some years ago. "LOVE One another as I have Loved you." Defeat the Rudness of the world. COUNTERACT IT WITH Tender Loving Care. I am subordinate to Him, Jesust Christ King of Kings. Yet though I follow, i shared in the first day of Creation. Light, and the Light was found to be Good. a better name of this song would be : To the Beginning of the World ... Human existence on this planet is quite new regarding when life appeared on Earth : some millions years ago, while this planet was formed billions years ago. Let us be humble, facing this incredible mistery. ♥

I'm currently 45 years old and I consider myself to have a broad musical range. From classical music to punk to hip-hop to death metal to reggae to grunge to classic rock to jazz, etc. The fact that tonight is the 1st time I've heard this song, or of these artists, is a travesty. What brilliance.

Pat wrote this about his sons when they were really young. They would be running all over the place, and so this song captures the chaos of chasing them around.
