"What I like About You" is my fav from Jon B, definitely worth a listen.

This was my jam back in the day! I’m one of the few who finds Jon’s second album Cool Relax to be overrated, but I loved his first two Babyface-written singles. “Someone to Love” was the bigger hit-and it’s a flawless duet with Face himself-but I like this one even more. LOL at them censoring the double entendre at the end of the chorus.

You're right, this song was wrote and produced by Babyface. This song was reaching the top 40 in 1995 for him in US and was his second single for him. You're talked about the Disney movie? No, in the Disney movie, John Smith was playing by Mel Gibson

***JON B. TRIVIA TIME!!*** ...such a Pretty Pretty...Baby Empress.... ; ) (4:46) ...... - ...I know this may have been already said, but Jon B. WALKED, So that Justin Timberlake & Robin Thicke could RUN.... "Pretty Girl" was Jon's 2nd single after the HUGE duet....with BABYFACE...."Someone To Love" (#7 R&B, #10 Pop), Summer 1995.... - ...Jon's debut Album, "Bonafide" was ENTIRELY produced by him...with the exception of the 2 Songs I mentioned, making everyone think Jon was a Babyface clone! ...after that, his label stopped promoting him, and he became a 'Party Boy'...... (4:00) - ...BUT! ...Jon was gaining some REAL 'Street cred', and knocked everyone OUT with his 1997 Album "Cool Relax", with the 2 Songs Empress mentioned.... (0:30) ....then, Jon was having label issues and left Epic.....BADLY..... - ...then, along comes Justin & Robin.... but Jon is the REAL DEAL......even though he looks like EVERY White Boy in the Bronx, New Jersey & Long Island! (3:36) ...ha-HAAA! ...P.S., "Pretty Girl" peaked at #21 R&B, #26 Pop......

Thanks for giving Jon B his proverbial flowers. What I always appreciated was that in the 90’s, Jon never watered down his sound for crossover appeal (he could’ve easily gone the Backstreet/NSYNC route). He’s a through and through R&B singer (as opposed to dabbling in it on occasion for street cred). ✌🏽

Dang too bad he didn’t get the huge hits like the other 2 mentioned

@@EmpressReacts ...well, his "They Don't Know / Are You Still Down" single hit #2 R&B for FIVE WEEKS (stuck behind "Nice & Slow" by Usher, & "No No No" by Destiny's Child)...THAT'S his biggest Soul hit....

He definitely is giving Babyface vibes. Babyface is a songwriter and producer with a very distinct sound. Jon B sounds good. I love how Face can write a song in his style, but can craft it to fit each artist.
