This song was produced by the legendary Ashford & Simpson. While they did many Marvin & Tammi songs, this was their only track on Diana & Marvin. You would love this whole album! The covers are fire: “Stop, Look, Listen,” “You Are Everything,” “Don’t Knock My Love” (despite what Diana thinks). The first two US singles are also fantastic: “You’re a Special Part of Me” and “My Mistake.” The other tracks are great as well. I think you’d really like the closer, “Include Me in Your Life.”

These two legends can do no wrong IMO. It’s hard to pick a favorite track from this album, but mine is probably the melancholic “My Mistake.”

Fun reaction, thanks Empress. I like how you pick out specifics and details, it’s really cool. Glad you dug it. I love this tune as well. By now you’ve heard I think 7 out of 10 songs on this album. I may send you their version of “You Are Everything“ but to me, the Stylistics original version, which I sent a while back and you loved, cannot be topped and I think is superior, so not sure if I will send that to you. A couple other possibilities, I’ll think it over.
