I love the mod, it would be impossible to keep the feel of beta 1.7 while adding a lot but they do a good job.

God crash landing was fantastic. I remember my favorite series on it was from Huskymudkipz back before he removed most of his vids. Now he only has the 1st 10 of a few series, but he did 2 on Crash landing, both were great

One modpack I still play to this day is FTB Ultimate, the 1.4.7 version. I now have quite the base, and all I needed to do was to tweak one or two things. I've also played the FTB Pyramid challenges and enjoyed them.

RIGHT?! Regrowth was my first like "hard" modpack, and i continued to go back to it even after newer versions of mc came out. One of my dreams is to make a modern spiritual succesor to Regrowth, because there hasnt been a single "Regrowth" type modpack to come out since.

Attack of the B-Team and Hexxit were oldies that I miss. Hexxit in particular had an adventurous spirit that no modpack has achieved before or since.

This brings back so much good nostalgia, the thing that really got me into modded was hosting a LAN party with my friends and playing feed the beast monster on version 1.6.4. But the thing that's stuck out with that was we all had computers it could easily pull 1,100 Watts from the wall and we were tripping the breakers like crazy meaning I had extension cords running all over my parents house. By the second day of the party we ended up having to move it to the basement and I rigged up temporary circuits out of the electrical panel because people were tripping over all the cords running throughout the kitchen and living room

Idk how accurate it is to the OG version, but I did find a version of Technic called Technic SSP, posted for posterity

Two mods that came to my mind while watching this video was the RC Control mod where you had different remote controlled vehicles that you could drive/fly around and the big Star Wars mod where you had lightsabers, force powers, speeder bikes, space ships and so on

the floating world type is most likely inspired by the cancelled basegame world type of the same name. there was originally meant to be an opposite dimension to the nether, heaven, but that eventually fell through and became the end instead.

Artomix also worked with version 1.2.x. I played it on that version. And Artemix seed spawned a village in a river. It looks like a mini Venice. It is also for version 1.2. I discovered it by wrongly typing the Artomix seed 😂

Looking back at Modders and Modpackers, I can surely say both sides were unhealthy obsessed with IP and the usage of it. Nowadays people astonishingly give the exact opposite - 0 fucks. Except someone has to pull an adobe, then everyone suddenly becomes lit af.

I remember most of these! As for Sevtech ages, I’m actually making a WIP version that basically uses the same concept, but for a newer version. Won’t say what for now, as it’s pretty unstable but this video made me want to finish it! It’s technically playable, but it has so many crashes and bugs from the sheer amount of mods in it, it’s not really playable yet, also, I was going to add my own mod to it.

*Crash Landing:* I'd say Agrarian Skies is more deserving of this place in the list, as it was to my knowledge the first Hardcore Questing modpack. Though Crash Landing _did_ put Sync to the best possible use it could have had and was a much more fun concept than "simple" lives. *Obscurity:* _"One of the most legendary and recognized FTB modpacks ever made..."_ I have _literally_ never heard of this pack before - and I was always much more into FTB packs than Technic, especially in 1.7.10. Funny how different experiences can be. *(The original) FTB:* I have waited the whole video for this. Seeing as you were very focused on Yogscast-adjacent packs for the old ones I almost though you wouldn't include it. FTB Insanity was my first real challenge map. I started it at the end of 2013 (1.6.4 just came out) and completed it mid 2015 (around 1.8.4) after 111 episodes and hundreds of hours of playtime. I even completed the damn bee quest, including the Omega Bee, without any cheats or additional mods. _Tangent:_ I must say, I also never really watched the Yogscast. I think they were largest when I was still almost exclusively watching in German and, as such, Gronkh, who only played with a very small collection of mostly non-content mods, if any, for the longest time. When I started watching in English, I watched Direwolf20, because his calm style was reminicent of Gronkh while he was much, much more knowledgeable about the game and mods in particular, which I had been playing with already for the a long time and grew tired of Gronkh not really using. *What I miss: FTB Infinity* FTB Infinity was (and still is) a 1.7.10 modpack with one of the best selections of mods for that time imo and one of the first big expert mode style packs. It also imo did the expert mode concept really well, making progression sort of tiered where it's hard to reach the next tier but once you're there it becomes much more easy to expand there. I'd say it was the pack to make expert mode popular. If I want to play a pack with people, I almost always choose Infinity (normal mode though), as everybody can find something to do there. It's my most played pack by a long shot. I hundred-percented the whole expert mode in SP in 170 episodes from Aug. 2016 to Jan. 2019 (2.5 years, WTF) and had like 5 different servers I played on over time, the first one being in Apr. 2015 and the last as recent as 2022.

servtech died because the creators a cunt The main thing that killed it in my opinion is them locking autojump behind an item that you needed to progress fairly far into the game for. 95-99% of players DO NOT want this on. Therefore they simply did not play the pack. The creator killed his own pack because he wanted to be a dickhead, He also made several ableist comments on reddit.
