I really love these type of videos BUT, why don’t they ever start with “Step #1: Get yourself about 7-10 thousand dollars worth of woodworking tools and equipment” 🤣

Love it! Seems my tweed inside curve where it splits has the filler patch underneath the main sheet rather than a little triangle on top. Who knows, maybe both were used depending upon the person.

Dude! This is the video I needed to see. Does this setup track pitchbend or vibrato?

Have you ever covered an amp with canvas? Would you recomend it? I am building myself a combo organ and am considering using canvas instead of tolex as a budget friendly option.

Very nice seam technique! I think I'll use a single piece until I'm good enough to hide 4 seams!

Fender case vid ? I have two with a weird stickiness due to faulty covering from factory but they are custom for the instruments so would love to recover. Or have to toss cause the finish is dissolving thru the covering.

our church has a hammond organ with leslie speaker that no current member remembers even being played. we want to get rid of it. what can we do with it? how to sell it?
@FreshOldSchoolАй бұрын
Different models are worth different amounts. Condition is a factor. Without an organ to connect and test it you wont be able to get as much as you could. There’s a tag on the bag that says the model # if you decide to list it on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace.

I have a great fact about this Hammond model. It was originally modeled after the monumental telharmonium and it uses the same exact technology but way WAY smaller and with an amplifier on the speakers.

Great job! This vid was concise and straight to the point. Very well done sir!

The paper will be too heavy if you fill too much. It is better use low density sponge (EVA) to fill into the cabinet of amp. Other, it is better to plug out the tubes during you shipping it.

Tolex is vinyl, which is highly toxic, especially when heated and in the form of micro particles. So heating up vinyl with a heat pistol and scratching it off is a very bad idea, health-wise

Just finished my Deluxe-sized cab using this tutorial - it was very helpful, and it's very challenging to get the cuts right. Also, he doesn't include gluing the top and bottom pieces, which were the most challenging - contact cement-wise.

Great video and awesome skills. You made it look easy! also considering this is cream tolex, it might get messy really easy if your work table has any dust or gunk. Clean work.

What/where is the pin connector cord coming out of the Leslie connected to? Did you say you have yours plugged into a pre-amp? I have a Leslie 205 with a type 6148-1 built in amp. I'm not sure how to run a guitar through it. Thanks.

Nice to see another synth player!!! I used to do something similar, but used my macbook instead of the Kenton. I wish I'd known about it then. I'm now too tied into the macbook and the sounds in Mainstage. I like the idea of your setup though!

The outside 22ish degree can be done without slitting the edge face. Lap your corners ans then do 1 cut for perfect seams. Respectfully, change or ditch the gloves after glueup. That was painful and awkward to watch.

After adding tweed cloth to my speaker cabinet, the back panel has a fairly snug fit. Do a couple coats of shellac add any thickness effecting the fit?

Thank you for making this. I’ve been building custom cabs for people lately and this video has helped me immensely with my quality control. I still can’t get non-nylon, non-fender style grills like Orange/Basketweave or Marshall-Style to shrink with a heat gun even after spraying with water. Am I doing something wrong?
