So Many Yabbies Just Off A Main High Way/Catch & Cook/Fishing South Australia

In this episode me and a good mate head to the Riverland for a yabby mission. It was incredible to see the flooded river and to get to see first hand the amount of water flowing through. We started with some drop nets and caught a few ripper yabbies, then decided to change tactics and us some opera house nets in a different location. Wow the amount of yabbies we caught was mind blowing, we were getting up to 50 yabbies per net. This was crazy fun and brought back many child hood memories, hope you enjoy and thanks for watching.

I had a ball watching this :) You got me to wondering about using a Drone to drop the pots perfectly ???? If it worked it would beat tossing the bloody things (I do about 50/50 upside down)

Been gretting some great ones up there and up the road abit in bezza… I commented bout it the other day on TikTok I’m (limp noodle) lol … but yer been heaps and heaps of yabbies but the cod and yella have gone quite but millions of carp around

Nice!! Yeah unfortunately the carp are loving the floods!! Hopefully we will see the native fish back in numbers soon!! I’m thinking about heading to Berri soon for a look, would love to catch some monster yabs before the disappear!!!

Amazing ,just lot of yabbies in there and how easy to catch them. Wish it is the same here at the Goulburn river at Shepparton,Victoria.

@@midyouthcrisis1 I find dams are abit better because they're abit hungrier rivers have so much feed and room to hide I get more out of dams anyways.

Hey mate, this was literally off the highway out of Kingston on the Murray! At the moment you will get them any where in the back waters!! Good luck and have fun.

I’m not sure mate, but if your not getting in one spot, try a few more! Especially if you can access farm dams, they usually hold good yabbies.

So when youre dropping your nets in new flood areas - where are you dropping them ? in current ? depth ?? near trees?

We were dropping nets in the backwaters with little to no flow. Depth was 3-5 foot and we were catching more around the bases of trees.

This was Kingston on the Murray, but the water has went right down now! You still might get a few but the cold weather will slow them down.
