Have you found weevil in your rice. I see several people saying that it’s a problem in Thailand with rice.
@HereComeTheParkers7 күн бұрын
@@Walk-retirement-travel we have found weevils in our rice once. It was in a 2kg bag of rice that we later discovered was past best before date when purchased. Since then we buy only 5 kg bags of high quality rice and decant 2kg at a time into an airtight container. No further problems. If you have space you can store your rice (and flour) in the fridge. FYI we had far more problems with weevils in Australia than we have ever had in Thailand.

Was it easy to get Thai driving licence?
@HereComeTheParkers7 күн бұрын
Yes very easy. If you have a valid licence from your home country no driving test is required. As far as we know you will have to prove your residential address in Thailand with a copy of your lease and the certificate of residence from immigration department. (Remember - things change often in Thailand so this info may be outdated.)

I do not understand why Nivea shaving gel is so expensive in Thailand. In Australia, I can buy it for less than $3 and have it delivered to my door when it is on special, yet it would cost over $10 in Thailand from Big C. I have not seen it for half price in Thailand yet. Considering it is made in Thailand would have thought it would have been a lot cheaper. Thumbs up Parkers look forward to the next Video. 👍

@@HereComeTheParkers Amazon USA is the best range, lots of items included in free shipping for order over US$35. thanks for the price comparisons , Guys . $ 39 AUD for JOHNNY WALKER red sounds a tad pricey for Thailand . Still cheaper than Straya . Hong Tong though is FIRE WATER . " Fruit Wine " - sounds suss . Again , $30 for Penfolds Wine ? Hummmm ? GOSSIPS for $ 17 - here costs $ 8-$10 . I guess it just validates what various retirees have been saying - Buy local - eat and drink local is cheapest . Thanks again Guys - cheers from Millstream Qld .
@HereComeTheParkers9 күн бұрын
Buy local - eat and drink local is definitely the best advice! You can get Thai wine from Monsoon Valley Vineyard and it's "ok" wine but, surprise surprise, it's terribly expensive! You can get toothpaste in Thailand from every store, including 7-Eleven, that isn't salty. You're right, the Thais like salty toothpaste but there are heaps of "not-salty" varieties from Colgate and other multinational and Thai brands. There are also many herbal varieties.

Good morning! Could you please explain about permanent residency in Thailand? How can you guys stay? Do you need the permanent residency before buying a house?
@HereComeTheParkers15 күн бұрын
On the matter of permanent residency and visas we suggest you contact a Thai lawyer or a visa agent. Siam Legal has a good website that explains about PR and visas. www.siam-legal.com/ We can stay because we have a visa that allows us to stay. We are just like every other foreigner who lives here. You can buy a house here on a 60 day tourist visa if you want - you don't have to have permanent residency. There are thousands of people who own houses here and stay for say 90 days at a time, go back home for a while then come back to Thailand and continue the cycle again.
