Do psychopaths feel fear? You said you were sad in this video. I was unaware they were capable of sadness. Do you feel any emotions at all? Or is it more of like just this selfish mindset 24/7 to whereas you’re basically just thinking about yourself all the time and only become sad or distressed whenever something bad or unpleasant happens to you? I was under the impression that psychopaths didn’t have any kind of inner monologue based around emotions and that’s why they are psychopaths. Because: The average yearly return of the S&P 500 is 11.47% over the last 50 years, as of the end of May 2024. This assumes dividends are reinvested. Adjusted for inflation, the 50-year average stock market return (including dividends) is 7.39%. So you’re right if you’re thinking you need purely adjusted for inflation, but maybe you don’t?
@m.e.thomas7901Ай бұрын
For instance if you want to retire in 45 years instead and are willing to keep contributing $100 a month, you’ll get to $1M at the adjusted for inflation rate of the stock market with a $25k initial contribution by 25 years old

33~ manipulatiion etc ~~ as the prior discussion had centered around the propensity to control as an exercise in self expression and self identification, the challenge around not manipulating would seem to find an analogous reward in not achieving the sense of satisfaction in dominance as fulfillment-- perhaps developing a curiosity and commitment to explore the outcome of removing oneself's agency from the outcome - for example, how likely I am to be pleased with the outcome of a circumstance in spite of the fact that I am not acting or directing variables to satisfy my preconceived preference? Another may be in recognizing the multiplicity of options to " play with " i.e., instead of living off $2 /d or can I influence the other's career choice; what would it look like if I had to fast three days a week to yield the same financial outcome, or if I resisted all impulses to direct career choice and instead put the same energies into building up the other's total agency? If this person made this decision out of their own self direction. where would they go with this and how would I react to this outcome? Could it be that I actually feel satisfaction mastery from redirecting my first impulse to influence career choice and / or 2) could the career choice ( to the degree outcome rather than mere dominance is satisying ) actually be more authentically ' beneficial ' or even heaven forbid, "superior " to my preconception ? Am I really the brightest or most powerful lightbulb in the room? Is incandescent possibly preferable to maximal wattage ?
@m.e.thomas7901Ай бұрын
I agree especially with your last two questions. The truth is that you could be the brightest lightbulb there is and just not have the ability to predict the future. One of my favorite trends on Twitter is seeing the reaction race when something happens like the trump assassination attempt. Everyone rushes to a conclusion, trying to be “right”. But I have learned that when I am so invested in being right, I am often at my most distorted perception of the world bc my self confirmation bias is in full force and I only see literally what I want to see.
