I have the same problem on my new e cells dual star. The tech went through a bunch of different possibilities and decided it was the torque controller. So they will be sending me a new one if they ever get them in. Me in my case it had nothing to do with motor temperature or loose wires.
@VSlim452 сағат бұрын
That's a bummer, I hope you get it resolved quickly. I don't think it had anything to do with overheating or loose wires. I don't know what it is. He's in contact with wired, hopefully they fix it for him.

what was the ambient temp? seems like over heating. Have you asked WIRED what is the behavior supposed to be when it over heats?

Ventura Slim - Great video and thank you. (1) Question: On your dual-star eCells bike what mirrors do you have on your bike ? They look nice and big with lots of visibility. (2) Thanks for the link to the 26x4 fat tires - since they are tubeless can you still add flat out or slime or do you need a tube for the flat prevention ? (3) Comment: I have seen multiple videos on the Wired Cruiser cutting out (for whatever reason). Any idea what is going on ? Has your buddy contacted the folks at Wired for a repair ? Curious how the company is responding.

We really do not know what is going on, he reached out to Wired today and they already responded (on a Saturday) they are helping him figure it out. My complete and total guess is, it's a bad controller. I'm hopeful that they will fix it for him.

Sounds like your buddy might have a bad controller. If the wiring is all intact & it's not throwing any error codes on the display from the motor, I would have to lean towards the controller has an issue once it reaches the 200 degree mark. A mosfet or connection inside is probably bad.

@97JoMiller6 күн бұрын
what did the voltage sag down to when you twisted the throttle? I have a feeling that's why you got the cut out because it sagged down to 50v or something along those lines and then when you powered off and back on because the voltage sag was gone you got the power back until it sagged down again.

Good question, good point. I am not 100% sure. I wasn't wearing my glasses and that number can be tough for me to see, so it could have gone lower and I missed it. That said, the lowest I noticed it go was 51 volts.

Thanks for the review. Cruiser light looks brighter and adjusted better for longer sight. You mentioned people wouldn't take a cruiser off road, so not an apples to apples comparison. Interesting, because I want a cruiser for off road for hunting. Even at 6'2", I don't want to try to swing my leg over a stand or something that's strapped on the rear rack.
@VSlim456 күн бұрын
I think if you are using it mostly on smooth trails/terrain it'll be fine "off road" I just don't think it compares when it comes to more difficult terrain like a single track mountain bike trail with a lot of rocks and ruts to deal with. I really like my friends cruiser, I am also 6'2" and swinging my leg over my bike can be tough, especially when my rear pack is loaded. Much easier to get onto the cruiser. Happy hunting!

I wonder if the environment is causing the change? The weather is cooler than your first ride, more breaks or longer breaks this time around while riding.
@VSlim456 күн бұрын
I have no clue, I am certainly no expert. I don't think so, because yesterday was quite warm even though the weather has cooled down recently. And I took about the same amount of breaks as last time. I'm not complaining, that's plenty of range for that kind of terrain. (well, with the obvious exception for the stop for lunch...)

Great video, thanks for posting. However, I must take issue with you at timestamp 14:30 in your video where you said, "No one rides their bike like this". Most of my rides are done at an average speed of 15 to 18 miles an hour and I regularly attain a range of at least 85 miles per charge. I can cruise at 15 to 20 miles an hour at PAS level one and 6th gear on flat ground. I am currently at 52.6 volts (25%) on my batteries and have already ridden 83.4 miles on this charge. I have never taken a ride where the batteries were completely drained, but if I did, I know I would get at least 100 miles on the charge. There is absolutely no reason to ride this bike on PAS level 4 when you are in traffic or around pedestrians. You must have a cadence sensor instead of a torque sensor, correct? Anyway, again, thanks for sharing this video. I really love my Dual Star bike, and it looks like you were having a great time too. Be safe and take care.
@VSlim4511 күн бұрын
Thank you! I did finally figure out the range. Of course it varies greatly depending on how you ride it. 100 plus miles is possible in the right conditions. 60 to 70 is more realistic in my opinion. Completely depends on terrain and riding style. ❤

I've got five Juiced bikes, been riding since 2018 over 43,000 miles In that time I've got dozens and dozens of flats literally enough to buy a new bike at $50 per repair (including tubie and sealant)... Always figured it would be a pain to try to fix the flat myself so I always have someone pick me up and go to the bike shop If I was handy enough to repair in the field I would but here are some things I have learned over time 1) give a trusted loved one access to your phone GPS 2) when riding on normal streets try to stay away from the gutter. That's where all the crap like nails, glass and debris are 3) HEB Allscape tires are super beefy like motorcycle tires and hold up much better I'm currently on 7500 mi on one bike and they still have life, also use Flat Out with them 4) Tannus tire inserts... 5) Ehen going off-road be careful for cactus, thorns and sharp rocks, your tread can handle it but your sidewalls can't 6) I frequently go in very remote places by myself and am constantly playing out the worst case scenario and a plan if s*** goes wrong I used to get flats multiple times per week, sometimes day after day. Very frustrating for years. But I've been lucky so far with these tips, My flats are very infrequent now and the only danger really are huge nails and shards of metal that would destroy any tire Hope this helps

@daniellarusso801215 күн бұрын
I've logged about 2000 miles on my 2024 Wired Freedom and have had a total of 4 flats - all in the rear tire. My advice is this: forget about the flatout/slime in the innertube, and pass on the tire-liners too. Here's why: Patching innertubes is really easy to do as long as you don't have foam liners making accessing the tube a pain, and I imagine the flatout/slime goo will make getting a proper seal with the patch more difficult. Flat are going to happen; it's an unfortunate reality of riding anywhere there are people and their junk/trash. But its quite easy to flip these bikes over onto their seat/handlebars and pop the tire off one side of the rim to get at the tube without removing the wheel. I can locate the puncture and patch it in about 5 minutes and it takes about another 5 minutes to pump 25 psi back into the tire with a manual handpump. 15 minutes of field repair beats a long walk home etc, and the patch-kits that use rubber cement with bonding rubber squares are effectively permanent; the scabs are junk, skip those - they don't last. The ones I use are called "Slime Classic Patch Kit" and its very portable, and there are a variety of portable pumps as well. That's all you need to never worry about being stranded again. Happy riding. :)
@daniellarusso801215 күн бұрын
I should add that I haven't even changed out the rear innertube. It's now got 4 patches over the course of months and it still holds air just fine. I don't plan on swapping to a new innertube until the rear need an actual new tire - which will probably not be until next year's riding season. Being able to avoid the hassle of taking off the rear wheel for tire/tube repair is an immense perk in itself. :)
