How many click to seat the converter. I have a 72 lemans that the torque converter hits the flex plate before the housing meets the engine block even after 2 clicks. Its preloading the transmission pump. Had the transmission out numerous times and still unable to have a gap between the torque converter and flex plate when the housings are bolted up. Its bound up.Does it need 3 clicks? I just rebuilt the engine (first time) and had the crank turned. Starting to wonder if they gave me someone elsed crank at this point. May have to tow it to a transmission shop.

I have a 5.3 lm7 sitting in my garage. I was thinking of using it in my 1990 k2500 light duty truck. I'm not to familiar with swapping it into a 4x4 truck though. Not sure if i want to buy a full pull out from the junkyard because that lm7 is for my Nova build. From what I read i can use a junkyard pull out with ny stock transfer case. I assume it would be like any rwd swap except im bolting in my original transfer case. Can you confirm I'm going down the right track for the transfer case? I was thinking of using pcm hammer to get the truck going and then getting it tuned. I also thought of sourcing a 4l80e so I can pull a camper. I also have the same rear-end as the truck in this video.

Arp bolts never resized the rods, 2618 pistons and piston wall clearance probably not set right, dirty rebuild and didn't replace cam bearings 😢

I have a ly6 6.0 Ls . Stock rods new bearings and use arp bolts do I still have to resize ? I’m sorry I’m new in building

In the future, put your foot on the brake while bumping. That’s what I do. Makes it less violent & doesn’t rock the car. Also when you’re testing it in the pits, keep in mind your tires are spinning, when you’re on the track, they’re hooking so it’s gonna bump further in the prep.

Your right, that's exactly what happened to it. when will these guys learn ya cant use ARP bolts without resizing the rods. Also, your right about the heat marks...someone got the rod ends WAY to hot to put the pins in, it's not necessary to get them that hot. when they turn blue half way down the rod...the rod is junk. I think the lifters collapsed from all the bearing trash that ran through them. just my .02 lol. Great video!

You can never retard timing less than the trigger angle in basic trigger mode. If you need lower timing in boost it wont retard lower!

Drove no issues there at all, top speed getting there 85 or so. Picking up the old 350 he pointed out the ds last exhaust manifold bolt MIA so ticking most likely coming from it lol. You're making the dream build and everybody is beyond stoked for it

He actually drove the truck there 2.5hrs lol. Took that old 350 for one last ride. The cold start… not sure what it’s about. We never could figure out why. We played with the efi for days. Tuned it several different ways, just unsure why it was a bitch to start up cold. Original plan was 383 left to him from his late father and a edlebrock E-Force blower setup. As you can imagine, center bolt aluminum heads are now a day in the past for sone odd reason. So we solved that problem by going 6.0 and build “Tommy” the Silverado into a “zl1 1500” lol.

recently got a '94 that came with a moates f3v2 chip, and another spare. wanted to get some tfr 11r 190 heads, but moates and the quarterhorse is gone, so this is looking like the next best option. are there any downsides to this setup?

What was the exhaust made from. My turbo sho the Downpipes just made from cast and yours sounds a lot better lol

Looking good. Vintage Air makes a heat only unit with a heater core.

I have the same setup with supercharger etc. I went with the ms3 (Microsquirt). All was pretty straightforward. Also went with an android head unit and shadow dash for my gauges. Not using maf, using map. Of course had to install a wideband o2.

Usually the 454 SS was the only 1/2 ton that came with a 14 bolt. You have a rare truck sir.

buddies of mine just did a 5.3 ls swap in my 95 Silverado. Started it for the first time today. I went with the Holly terminator x so it was a little more time. He got the motor and trans out of a 2003 Yukon with 38,000 miles on it. Everything like you said fit just perfect . We were surprised how everything from the radiator hoses to the factory Yukon Y pipe fit like it was meant for my truck. Just have to have it tuned and will be good to go.

Hard to tell, but are there washers between the converter pads and the flexplate? If you remove them, will it free up some spacing and alleviate the thrust issue?
