As a retired Psych Caseworker I 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 you. We all need a break and when we don't allow ourselves that break we run into problems. As a writer I also have to take breaks for health reasons and just to avoid burnout. I love that you're taking some writing classes. We release so much through writing. Our world opens up as we release, process and grow.

Glad to see you're back😊. You should give The Fourth Monkey by J.D. Barker a try. I hear it's a really good book, I'm curious to know what your review would be.

Some of me want to get into romance novels but I can't. Romeo and Juliet was my fav but it was a tragedy. I need death and drama!

So glad you're back!! Always prioritize your well-being. I thought I'd recommend a book that I read somewhat recently and that I found very entertaining. The book is Everyone in my Family Has Killed Someone by Benjamin Stevenson.

Another good thing about the library is that you can also borrow ebooks. Which works great for me if I'm traveling or out running errands. As a mood reader, using my reader helps, then im not carrying around different books. Even though there's about 3 hardbacks in the car .... cause you never know!! 😂

Thanks for the book rec's. A lot of new books I hadn't read yet. My husband has read A Portrait of Dorian Gray, definitely a book I've been interested in. I appreciate your transparency also and sharing from your life. In the same spirit I'd like to recommend a book to you, but I'm new to your channel so I don't know if you've already read it... it's called Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, beautiful writing hard subject...at least for me anyway.

So happy your back Cuz!! Thank you for some great recommendations No need to justify time off, you do you. I read The Picture Of Dorian Gray for a class in college and as an Indigenous student, found the language challenging. But I'm persevering with my last 2 classes & I'm on track to graduate at the end of the year. Sending you positive vibes.

Some really great recommendations five , I’ve read 2/4 and I can say I agree with your reviews of those. Classics like Dorian can be a bit scary to get into because of the old language used but like ya said ya do get used to it and if you master Dorian well it does make you feel like you can delve into more classics because there’s some really brilliant ones. I wish Oscar had of wrote more novels this being his only one, the rest are plays but if you enjoyed it definitely read de profundis - he wrote that whilst in prison and it’s short but pssh I should of just underlined the whole book because it just hits you. The prophet by kahlil Gibran - another really short one that will have you marking up the entire book 😂 I’ve added the two books from this review I haven’t read yet to my tbr. I have another one (blacktop wasteland) you recommended before on there too , so looking forward to getting to those! Glad you’re feeling better , wishing you a good weekend!

I have missed you. But life is life. Don’t apologize for taking the time. We all need it. I’m just glad you’re back. I now have more books to add to my TBR. I can’t tell you enough how refreshing your book reviews are. If I was teaching again you would definitely be required material. One thing that struck me this time. When you added ratings it felt odd. Because your review gave me everything I needed to know. I get that Goodreads requires it but your reviews are enough. They are honest, deeply felt and delivered so personally and with so much warmth… what can I say. I’m a fan!
