This channel is becoming such a comfort at this point, seriously. The new frames look so good! I'm SCREAMING you got Get a Life, Chloe Brown!!!! Let's go, Brown sisters!!! So excited for you to read it! I read Dorian Gray when I was younger, remember I really liked, but not in details, so I plan t reread it this year. Simon vs the Homo sapiens agenda is lovely, and also has an adaptation that I highly recommend! Kindred, oh boy. Kindred. Still pops in my mind and leaves me speechless from time to time. And a bunch of great recommendations again, thank you!

I'm putting this one on my list. It sounds great. It reminds me the teeniest bit of BLINDNESS by Jose Saramago, which won a Nobel Prize for Literature. In that book (if you don't know it), large swaths of the human population suddenly go blind. Then they are rounded up by the government and put into camps--for "their own protection," if I remember correctly. The premise of the story is really interesting, and the writing is marvelous and raw. Lots of smells, as you can imagine in a world where very few can see. Too bad I can't read Spanish. I bet it's even better in its native tongue.

I will always recommend Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. It’s the original of the monster everyone knows but the media changed it and kind of lost the point of what Frankenstein was about. It’s my favorite book and it’s a classic! It created the genre of science fiction and makes you question the dilemma of who the actual monster in the book is. Also, random fact: the original gothic english vampires that we know today was originated by a story called The Vampyre (what Dracula is based on) which was written at the same time and in the same room as Frankenstein. If you’re curious, you should do some fun research on how the two most prolific monsters (Frankenstein and English Vampires) were created in the same room! Happy reading!

They're both YA books centering around a young boy who doesn't fit in with the rest of their school peers (although for different reasons). It's a book that been banned in several states highschools/libraries for graphic content but the story that it has to tell is truly one of a kind and worth the read.
