Great Tutorial, thanks for taking time to make it. It seems too many steps and it needs advance level skills. There should be a categories of clothing inside Reblium, say 10 Trousers, 10 shorts, 10 quarters, 10 Tshirts, 10 dress shirts...... something like this and ability to change color and texture... it it possible to use AI to generate clothing?

Does Reblium use Metahuman as a base to create characters? Could it not export the characters with the same skeleton MH uses so that when you import it into Unreal it creates a rig in the sequencer? I think having something like that would be much more valuable than AI rendering.

Thank you for your feedback and your question about Reblium Studio. Reblium does not use Metahuman as a base for character creation, as it is an independent application with its own unique setup. However, we do provide support for Metahuman-compatible facial blendshapes and plan to support more skeletons in the future to improve compatibility. As for body rigging, while Reblium doesn’t use the Metahuman skeleton, it’s possible to easily retarget any skeleton to the Reblium skeleton in Unreal Engine. You can also set up custom controls, similar to the rigging used with Metahuman characters. Feel free to join our Discord community or reach out to us directly at [email protected].

looks good, but how does it work with handmade meshes? does it let you import each piece of the mesh independently for selection… or, does it only work with the character it comes with?

Do you mean custom map import? That is available in the import menu. Check out the video at min: 0:53 You can import custom jpeg/png, just need to give it a name. Export from maya is the in the custom head process as any software, just a regular FBX file.

This would be neat if this was a free one off tool on the marketplace. Im sure that the ability to import your own morph targets you sculpt will come to the body mesh in the future but its pretty low resolution, shouldnt be able to see faceting on the shoulders in 2024.

I havent purchased Reblium yet because I am on the fence. If I am working in Blender and Unity will this work well with both? Currently I am using Character Creator 4 and am interested in seeing where you guys take Reblium.

Thank you for the interest. While our Unity SDK is still in the works, a normal export / import workflow using Unity and Blender will work with Reblium Studio.

Yes, some of our hairstyles indeed sway, as well it is possible to export with the hair and adapt for your own project with our UE SDK. Feel free to write us or join our discord community for further assistance.

Cool. So regarding skin quality and textures, it is still not high resolution on UE5.4 or there is a work around this? Also, can these character have metahuman animator and the ability to play with face/body animation of them or no?

I could NOT export to test what I made from the demo version and a lot of the tools are greyed out, useless, not video explaing things, never mind the load music promo's get a decent real promo explaining the software, at near $200 NZ I'm NOT buying a crippled beta to see if it is usefull to me.

I just tried this along with the new V1.1 and it outstanding! You guys have a customer. I import a test avatar with one click. No material issues like fbx's usual have. The hair (another BIG issue) import perfect.

@@FPChris yea saw some videos about it. We're heading in the right direction, but we're still not there yet as the texture maps are combining nine different textures into one essentially making it 512x512 pixels for the face, which is not useful for much.

I purchased the pre-order and its very exciting! :-) I just gave it a quick go - is there any chance we can get "step by step video tutorials" on how to produce a cinematic, realistic result for a caucasian young male (for example)? I love the example images that are in the 'splash' screen (when you first load the program, in the background you see samples) but the results I see are far more stylized/low quality even at 'epic' quality setting on a 3090. And the eyes always looks very strange like they are back-lit emeralds?

My only issue with this tool, is blendshapes are limited to the 52 shapes for the iPhone... And also a lot of these generators suffer from what i call the "Doll baby syndrome" where they all start looking the same

It doesn’t even work with 52 Blendshapes - did you get it to export Blendshapes? It is stuck on “none” for me. I wish we had release notes to know what works and what doesn’t. This def is a beta not a full release - strange that they let us preorder something that isn’t ready.

Direct use in 3ds Max is possible; however, we do not currently offer a specific 'Biped' version. Retargeting, is of course always possible with most DCC software.

Yes indeed, it is possible to export a rigged FBX and work with other supported DCC software. We are in development, to streamline and sort importing to Blender with our own solution.
