It's interesting seeing that Elk has definitely gone way around the bend, but has been insane for so long that he's had time to, I don't know if process is the right word, but, regain some level of coherence.

What i love most is that the elk and the man litteraly are the same person. Same personality, same memories and the same morality. No evil or good side, just two fates at the same time. Had they switched places, nothing would be different.

I think the reason Horse goes back to her human world appearance is because of the Elktaur/Elk/NWK trying to deny his own origins. All the character who have been changed by Centaurworld's magic are at least in part to their acceptance of the strange whimsy of the world. In the same way that Elktaur looked very out of place because he distanced himself from it as much as possible.

Well to the general it didn't fail and that's why he imprisoned the elk when he insisted on reversing the process. I dont know how elk got hold of the machine again but I'm guessing at that point he no longer wanted to be put back together. Otherwise he had the minotaurs and could have captured the general and done it by force?

I haven’t even seen centaurworld but this scene and the nowhere king’s whole backstory is so weirdly nostalgic to me. It is so reminiscent of these dark, mysterious brothers Grimm fairytales my mom would read to me as a kid. It’s incredibly compelling
