Brilliant, thanks a lot for sharing. Based on a John Burke story called 'Party Games' which features in the Sixth Pan Book Of Horror Stories, first published in 1965. Btw, that volume also contains a very short story ( less than 2 pages long ) by John Lennon called 'No Flies On Frank'.

I finally got to see Séance On A Wet Afternoon. Great title but it wasn't quite what I expected. Not sure what I was expecting, maybe something more realistic. It was more like a potboiler from the 1950s. Our Mother's House sounds good too but maybe that will also be disappointing.

Thank you for putting this on KZbin. I read the novel aged 10, back in 1982, and it's my favourite chilhood book. The cover of the paperback mentioned it had made into a TV series, and I always hoped it would be repeated, or be made available VHS or DVD. I'd waited 42 years and had given up hope of ever seeing it.

It was the time when three Evils were ruling ...1..Reagon in USA 2 Mrs Thatcher n 3 their puppet Zia in Pakistan ..so the reasons behind all such derogatory remarks against USSR by Hollywood legends r quite understandable

Like most, if not all, commenters, I have waited over fifty years to see this again. Yes, there is the occasional scene where you think: "My goodness, that was a bit amateurish", but hey, fifty years is several lifetimes ago in media terms. I don't go much on modern stuff but given 100% on things like You Tube where we can "see" our youth again which is lovely. The bottom line is that MDC should be given the oscar for doing this for all of us. Thank you so very much. One question: episode three seems to be missing. Is it not available/wiped forever?

On google maps today (October 2024). I don't know when peek season is but it looks decent. When is peek season? Very touristy. Gloomy. Was it sunny in the film, can't tell by the vintage film. I'd visit from the US. Many rundown building but I did see scaffolding which means they are fixing things up, that's good sign.

I've waited decades to see this again after the original run in the Sunday evening slot on BBC1. It is much appreciated. It was a sequel to The Last Of The Mohicans from 1971,which had a different, less effective actor as Hawkeye. Sadly, another great series from that time,Anne Of Green Gables,is lost forever,as the BBC wiped the recordings.

When I emigrated from the UK in 1974, singing in pubs was already becoming rare. Landlords decided there was more money in installing an overly loud juke box, making conversation nearly impossible. That was around the time they started ripping out centuries old furnishings and installing plastic mock Tudor rubbish.

I was a 10 year old. We didn't know what was coming. It's quite sad to see again. We seemed to be managing quite well without all the doctors and engineers. Lost Britain, and we lost it on our watch.

Kessler and the motorcyclist ("Willie Whitewash", as my younger sister called him!) were really quite sinister. Kessler had the same menacing demenor as the The Master (original) of Doctor Who. I was always on the edge of my seat whilst watching this series, and used to think it was verging on being an adult thriller. Great stuff!
