I know I said it a while back but, I think it's a Weasley Family Tradition to begin Hogwarts with a second-hand wand, not something borne of circumstance. Bill might have had Arthur's, Percy had Molly's, the Twins had Fabian and Gideon's, we know Ron got Charlie's (which may have been a Prewitt wand before Charlie), and I assume Ginny had Muriel's. Of course they don't use it for all 7 years but, it may be the initial three years to build a finer control of their magic. Take Neville for example; We know he had his Father's Wand and it didn't really work for him, yet he was still middle of the pack grade-wise. In less than a year with his own proper wand and he's a powerhouse. Maybe it's not even a Weasley thing but an old pureblood tradition and the reason for it was slowly forgotten over time?

@@bstybyz3 this is more of a “fill in the blank” theory than a “logical conclusion” theory, there’s no actual evidence to this besides the fact that Ron (the youngest of 6 boys) had a handed down wand, but biggest issue is that Arthur and Molly couldn’t just give up their wands for 3 years especially assuming it had only been a couple years since Voldemort’s fall and her brothers were killed by him

@SeanSinclair8212 ай бұрын
Tbh this one sounds like kind of a reach to me. Given what we know about wand lore and how you'll never get as good results with any wand other than the one that chooses you, it seems very unlikely that anyone would deliberately hobble their children that way during their crucial first few years at Hogwarts, when they're learning the fundamentals of magic and developing the core skills that they'll build upon later. It's more likely that Ron got a hand-me-down wand because his parents couldn't afford a new one. Remember that Molly only had one Galleon and a few Sickles when she took Ron to Diagon Alley in the first book.

My thoughts on these: 1) Possible and highly likely: It is in-character for both Dumbledore and Hagrid and Hagrids magic, flawed as it was, was always more inline of someone inexperienced than something trying magic with a broken wand. We know what that looks like with a wand that was less damaged than Hagrids wand would have been. No, Hagrids wand was definitely fixed and Dumbledore was the only one with a wand that could repair a broken wand. 2) Possible and highly likely: the item is too specific to be anything but custom made and the family doesn't seem to have money to have something like built by someone else. Though I'm not entirely sure if a clock would also count as "muggle technology" that shouldn't be enhanced by magic. Clocks are rather practical and we know watches exist without an immediate magical alternative. 3) There are no hints for this, I'm not buying it. 4) Possible, though I do prefer the Ravenclaw theory, in the broader "Every founder had a secret chamber in the castle (Gryffindor's room was the headmaster's office and the Hufflepuff's room is the kitchen) 5) Possible and highly likely, there is just a lot of foreshadowing in the novels coming from Ron, so him being a passive Seer would explain a lot. 6) Possible, though I don't think it is intentional. I think there are whistleblowers feeding Xenophilus information in a way that sounds plausible to Xenophilus and ridiculous to the rest of the country, unless you see through the nonsense filter that is put on them. Fudge executing goblins = Fudge having prejudices towards Goblins and in fact might try to take over Gringotts (something that the Death Eaters would eventually implement). Crumple-Horned Snorkack = some undiscovered magical cryptid (Luna would later on discover undiscovered animals. 7) Possible and highly likely: it is in-character for Snape and would explain a lot.

The Chamber of Secrets was opened in the 1942/43 school year, and Dumbledore only won the Elder Wand from Grindlewald in 1945. Sure, he could still have fixed it a few years after it was broken, but you make it sound like he already had the Elder wand at that very moment.

Honestly, my take on Ron is not that he was secretly a seer. The Dolyist answer is that JKR didn't quite know how to make Ron look smart in ways that let him stand out from Hermione, and also didn't quite know how boys that age joke and talk around one another, and just had him be the sarcastic hint dispenser for a lot of his dialogue. The Wattsonian answer is that Ron's more insightful than people give him credit for, especially after the movies' treatment of him. As far as Luna, I think the idea with her was that JKR wanted an excuse to call her 'Loony', and a quick way to personify her as a space case. Rowling's names tended to be a little on the nose for anyone who wasn't part of the Golden Trio's families, but rarely in ways that made you dig super hard for the connection once you saw it. It is, however, possible that Rolf is a werewolf, as Luna seems the type to treat a werewolves kindly and not judge them for their condition even before she met Professor Lupin, and given Newt's habit of rehoming potentially dangerous magical creatures it's not all that unlikely for his son to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Especially with Newt's known ties to Dumbledore and Fenrir's habit of targeting children of the Death Eaters' enemies. One of the theories I've heard that makes the most sense to me is that Pansy Parkinson was the one who sent Hermione the bubotuber pus in Goblet of Fire. She spent the entire year being spiteful and vicious to Hermione, and their year was working with the bubotubers, so thats means, opportunity, and motive tied up with a little bow.

Hermione is black is definitely one everyone agrees with.

This is a prediction, and a correct one.

@@Grrymjo it’s not correct in the slightest, characters who are black are specifically described that way: Lee Jordan, Angelina Johnson, Kingsley Shacklebolt. There’s multiple times where they describe Hermione as pale, white or red faced Not to mention the artwork for the Deathly Hollows literally shows a white Hermione on the cover, completely down for inclusivity but not for race swapping; just as equally against them race swapping Lavender Brown after casting black girls to play her originally.
