Some more fun facts about orks and why they're a terrifyingly effective bioweapon: - Orks have insane regenerative abilities. They can survive losing vital organs, losing limbs, bleeding out for hours, and can even survive decapitation so long as their head is sewn back onto a body (it doesn't even need to be their original body). The Orks' major warboss, Ghazghkull Thraka, survived not only getting his brain pulverized by a bolter round, but was also able to survive being decapitated by a space wolves captain, his body getting reattached to one even bigger and stronger. -Orks will grow physically bigger and stronger the more they fight. This is due to their innate belief in "bigger is better" and therefore the orks that fight more and get stronger become bigger due to their strange psychic power of belief. Orks will also grow more intelligent. -On the topic of the last fact, there was once an Ork Warboss who had grown so insanely massive and intelligent, that he and his nobz were nearly at the same level of the original Krorks. Known as "The Beast" this ork was said to have legs the thickness of tree trunks, and spawned such a massive WAAAAGH!!! That his meks were able to create "Attack moons", scrap metal death stars with gravity whips capable of disassembling planets. The Beast's WAAAGH spread so far and wide that the battle even reached Terra, and the primarch of the Salamanders, Vulkan, had to sacrifice himself in order to kill the beast.

Too bad most people are inherently arrogant. So I doubt anyone at Disney will take this with anything but a grain of sand. Shame it’s good stuff Edit: I’m burning my life for a sunrise I’ll never see. 😢😮

What really destroyed the Dinosaurs was not a meteorite, and was not a series of natural catastrophes. We did that. We domesticated them to the point where they resemble the modern day cow. In the 1800s we didn't at all shrug at the idea that people walked with dinosaurs. The only thing that changed was science invented a new method that is over complicated and can apply a date to something. They then use that method on everything ad-nauseam because it works incredibly well on the short term chronology. What's fascinating is that every scientist who works with it will admit that it looses accuracy the older a dating gets... what's even more convenient... I'm not talking about just carbon dating. I'm talking about stratification. The process of dating fossils depending on where they were found and discerning local geological processes then ascribing a date based on arbitrary secular knowledge that nobody except rich elite snobs (the absolutely dumbest among the human race) have a say in. I digress, where was I? If you did not know, dairy cows must be milked constantly or they won't survive more than a few months. They produce far more milk then they could supply to a herd's calf population. If you aren't putting 2 and 2 together, let me help. If humans decided one day that it was more important to fight about things in a big way... big enough to hit a reset button on our culture, and cause a series of cascading global catastrophes.... 1. You wouldn't know of it outside of legends because oral tradition would dominate over written communication in any post apocalyptic world. It would only take about 60 years for the telephone game to run it's full course and for two cultures sharing common ancestry to have two completely different ideas about who the real sky daddy is. 2. All domesticated livestock would cease to be, or would struggle to survive and adapt to the point where it no longer resembled what it originally was under our care. Most dog breeds would flat-line in literal hours after human's lost their capacity to care outside of just base survival. Probably, not exaggerating here, when faced with impending extinction at a society wide level, a few months to a year. It would depend on how far the leadership could tow the hope train. Don't believe me? Why do birds exist? There was absolutely no reason for a lizard to shed it's scales and learn to fly outside of raw necessity, and many of it's genus disappearing before it could accomplish survival basics. That raw necessity doesn't have to be... *rolls eyes hard* "Millions of years in a slow and gradual process using natural selection to weed out the weak genes and leave only the best suited and adapted to their environment." Ok... Niel... now explain polar bears and the Podarcis sicula or "The Itallian Wall Lizard" "adaptation"....."evolution"... does one never equal the other because you have to hide behind an illusionary "4th dimension" of time? Sorry, but this did turn into a rant. I am so sick of that explanation... "well, evolution is a gradual process over millions of years." Me: "Oh, so can I see the research you conducted over millions of years?"

I thought the show as a show was sub par, but the things that were sub par were sub par in a fairly uninteresting way. nothing shocking, just poor writing really. but I really liked that it was finally expanding what Disney was willing to do with the Star Wars IP. doing some old republic shit was really cool to me, because that could be a really interesting area for them to explore (ideally in better written shows). and I really hope that the digital shrieking that went on isn't going to completely destroy any chances of more of that happening. but I'm unfortunately not optimistic. it frustrates me to no end when people hate a bad piece of media for a really stupid reason. like, yeah there's a black woman in the show. who gives a shit. how are people having such dumb criticisms of it that somehow I end up in the position of defending a such deeply mediocre show. because like, yeah the show isn't good, but it has fucking nothing to do with the reason that a huge portion of the people that were angry with it had for being angry with it.

I had a very similar experience to you. Went in hearing so much, expected it to be a terrible show. But there was so much to love about it! Sol and Qimir were very cool characters, and i was even quite engaged by the slow flip of the twin’s alignments. Couldn’t agree more about the memory wipe. Was legit yelling at my tv when that happened, most baffling decision of the whole show for me. But ultimately, it’s my 3rd favorite disney live action star wars show after Andor and Mando. Found your channel from the Orks Kroot vid last night, and dropped a sub because i like your content. Hopefully you’ll drop another vid after i catch up on the backlog :)

This does not make sense at all... How is Frieren an Isekai? Just because her species is rare in the world, the anime is set it, does not make it an isekai. Elves live in that world naturally, but are just super rare, borderline extinct. Isekai, is "other world." There is no "Other World," in the anime. She is from that world, and travels that world. Just because the phrase "it's like she's from another world" can be used to describe Frieren, does not change the fact, she is NOT from another world. Just because we've never seen a fantasy anime from the perspective of a long lived being such as an elf before, does not make it an isekai. Just because the main character has lived for a very long time, DOES NOT MAKE IT AN ISEKAI! Frieren IS NOT FROM ANOTHER WORLD, But instead, is trying to connect with the world from which she is born, because she's been emotionally disconnected for a long time. Emotional Disconnect from the world around you, does not make it an Isekai either. Just because the main character is long-lived, DOES NOT MAKE IT AN ISEKAI! Perceiving the world differently, DOES NOT MAKE IT AN ISEKAI! The Freshness of Frieren, comes from the fact, that we are percieving the world from the perspective of the long-lived elf, that is popular in fantasy anime. Long-lived, Emotionally disconnected, Perceiving the world differently, Elf! NONE OF THAT IS ISEKAI!

andor is really good. I was disappointed with the childishness of the movies, but the non-arguments the vocal part of the fanbase were making also made me disappointed in their childishness. It made me embarrassed to like any part of the franchise, and just assume that maybe it's always been childish. (to an extent, I think any film before rouge one is still a bit thematically weak because the way it handled "good" and "evil" "dark side" "light side" stuff seemed pretty naive) but I'm happy you're deciding to actually dig in to the narrative and not just have the classic response: "erm, there's women and minorities in the new movies, and so they are bad, make star wars great again" that always felt so infantile. this video is making me reconsider how I feel about the older movies, and it's refreshing.

It is however more likely that we encounter actual dragons like pterodactyls. This I am willing to believe in. Odds aree that we will attaî the biotechnological level suffixient to engineer these specimens beforee we travel to other worlds, anyway.

After watching Andor, you'll realize that the original trilogy only showed you what was going on in the uppermost classes in the Empire. Everybody would know who Admiral Ackbar or Piett are for the same reason we all know who General Schwartzkopf was. Their faces would be all over the news across the galaxy.

I couldn't bring myself to care about a single character after episode 1. Once they killed (spoiler) Carrie-Ann Moss's character in the first 2 seconds of the show, I groaned and said "Cool now we're probably going to get some weirdly paced back and forth past/present exposition and she'll only show up in flashbacks". I was unfortunately correct - bit of a waste of an excellent actor, and a sophomoric way to try to string audiences along. Continuity issues were annoying also. The general pervasive disregard for the source material gave me the same feeling the Sequel Trilogy did: The mouse was whispering "Ha-Ha!?" in my ear every 30 seconds, and I don't like it. Again, this feels like it was made by a high schooler, but the draft was cooked up in a boardroom. In Andor, as Beghast correctly mentioned in his video on the subject, there is no second guessing motivations or intentions because of how amazing the 'Show, Don't Tell' is. This show tries to create on-demand intrigue by intentionally obscuring information from the audience, but in a way that just doesn't get us to care about it. "Great, I have no stakes." A show should have you saying "I'm in." by the end of episode 1. I was actually physically saying "I'm out" in the first 5 minutes - but I watched it anyway because I still have some stupid hope that Disney is going to turn this ship around. (Ob1 pun aside) I agree on the objective quality of the lightsaber fights, but if I want to see cool lightsaber choreography, I'll go watch a fan film. I need to give a damn about SOMEONE in the show.

"Misery is the result of a series of bad decisions" lol. Its funny sometimes realizing how totally disconnected from reality people lucky enough to start out life more or less on a fair and even footing are. Hole up, let me go tell this kid who was born with flippers instead of limbs that he just needs to make better decisions and he'll totally be happy. And not just lying to himself and the world because if he sees one more motherfucker born with a functional body looking at him with a hint of pity he's gonna flip over to them, chew their ankles till they fall over, then rip out their throat with his teeth. How pretentious for someone who lucked into talking about anime for a living to talk about how everyone should just make better decisions and they'll perk right up (and don't give me that usual youtuber bs about how it's super difficult; sure it requires work but it's not even as hard as a 9-5 factory job and its something you enjoy and see immediate results from to boot with no boss, get over yourself, a thousand people put in just as much effort and had just as much talent as every youtuber who gets lucky and establishes a profitable following). Just... the insanity of someone not even understanding how fucking grim this world is and how thoroughly you can get fucked without ever having a chance to avoid it. Oh well makes sense I guess. Happy little lambs like grimdark because it makes them feel deep and emotional, depressive fucks stuck in pits of shit like escapism because it lets them think about something other than... well those things you can't say without getting on watchlists lol. Although on the main point, yeah, frieren is dope as hell.

I'm still waiting for someone to make an honest comparison of the Star Wars shows, but include the old Droids cartoons for comparison. Apart from that, I think I can say is that I hope Disney doesn't take this as a sign that people don't want Star Wars shows without pre-existing characters. I've been wanting an Old Republic series ever since Episode 3 hit theaters, I really hope the Acolyte isn't their only foray into that setting.

The thing that people need to realize about all the complaining about "social/political agendas" in a show: nobody really complains about that stuff when the show is actually good. I've seen plenty of shows that have pushed/promoted agendas, but barely get a blip of anger for that. Those ones have been well-written and well-made shows. Of course, part of the reason why is that if a show is well-written then it handles its agenda stuff much better, because that's conjoined with the writing. When a good writer approaches an agenda, they understand how people actually feel about the issue, and/or know how to disguise an issue, and/or have fresh takes on presenting the issue, and/or bother to honestly represent the good and bad of both sides (which you'd think would be obvious to do) and thus can make a point without getting people's goat. But another important factor is that when a poorly-written/made show takes some stance on an issue, it always looks like they put the cart before the horse: they focused on the issue first and the story second, which 100% of the time creates a bad show. To be fair, sometimes it could be that they DID put the story first but they wrote so terribly anyway, but it's still going to have that same effect of looking like they focused more on a poorly-conceived agenda rather than a good story. If anyone out there is a writer, take note that you should actively avoid giving any kind of nod to a political issue until you have proven yourself as a writer. (And for the love of hell, actually study both sides of an issue before you depict something.)

I had huge expectaions for the series & could see potential even after watching it if they couldve only executed better. But they fell into the same misteps as other shows with poor handling of characters & messy story direction/writing. On paper all these shows should have been clear winners for the audience, so there needs to be accountability with creators. One of the biggest takeaways i feel watching is the rushed nature of storytelling/dialouge. Nothing really has enough time for growth & loses a lot of weight as a result. Maybe give more time for arcs to develop with 12 episodes like Andor had instead of 8

I’ve always liked the idea of making a show that hits on what we never see in any of the movies except a few scenes. My idea for a few years was a band of brothers style clone wars movie/show. Basically humanizing them and showing us the horrors of war they live through. It doesn’t have to be clone wars either, it could easily be stormtroopers. Just something that gives us that window into their life.
