Wow Wow Wow! ! ! ! Nice work! My favorite parts are the snare segments, but then you come in rock solid on the toms and kicks. Amazing. I'm in awe!!!

Excellent job! It can be tricky to hold the groove for that long while moving around the toms... A good drummer like you can play on anything!

Funny, but that sounds like Phil Manzanera or maybe Robert Fripp on guitar. Reminds me of some of the riffs off 'Fashion' by Bowie. Roughly around the same time so I shouldn't be surprised. But this track, and indeed pretty much all of this version of Japan's work, stands on its own. Brilliant stuff

I totally agree, Steve and Mick was just amazing(of cours the rest of the band as well) but I would love to see Tim do "Visions of China" which is one of my favorites outside "Sons of Pioneers" from that album.

I love Japan so much, such an important band to me. There is nothing quite like the Jansen/Karn rhythm section, so inventive and original. Well done for this, great playing!

What hand clap are you using on the SPDSX?

The clap is a Roland 808 with a Life in Toyko snare sample mixed in on the SPD sub channel plus some reverb.

Even though Steve was self taught, his drumming was/is phenomenal. He's said they tuned the bass drum to the track on 'Quiet Life', which is why it has such a beautiful rich bloom to it.
