😂 Yeah I learned real quick not to go all melee focused classes. I ran a solo op ran into just one Nueronthrope and didn’t die, but ended up running out of ammunition and no ammo chests nearby to help me get more. I realized the only thing happening was him coming to my level and giving him the chain sword, or we’d have an intense staring contest. I had no choice but leave the mission unable to stop him admitting we were evenly matched. It all ended in a draw

This is a complete guide for every class on Lethal, so read at your own risk of being bored. There are multiple different ways to hit lethal, tactical is choice number one. On missions with a final boss, the scanner makes it far easier and gives the team time to breath in mini boss/terminus events. Combined with the parry auspex scan, then the main focus is close combat for the tactical, I recommend the grenade launcher combined with the perk that restores ammo on majoris or higher kills. (Not executions) using the grenade launcher effectively can put multiple majoris level enemies on execution and deal with extremis enemy’s in 3 seconds or less Assault is meant to be a heavy hitter melee with a good secondary weapon, the hammer can deal with crowds but it doesn’t allow much health regen per hit, so he should be away from hordes and take swings on the outside of them. the hammer’s charged heavy, upgraded properly, can deal massive AOE. Adding the jetpack slam, it can deal with majoris or extremes threats easily. Vanguard is a bit weird in terms of abilities, but the instigator rifle or the melta are still pretty good despite that, the grappling hook is meant to get in the fight faster, dealing with snipers easily with the instigator if he can grapple to them. While the melta is good for hordes. Bulwark, I swear to god, is the medic. A competent individual, with one brain cell, can see the teamate on low health, an executable enemy, and your ability that brings back contested health if you took the OBVIOUS bonus to the banner ability. You will then plant the banner on them so they can execute and get the health or while they are executing. This is riskier, because the animation determines if the enemy died early in the animation or near the end. The safest way to do it is by having your teammates get the medkit, pop your ability, they heal to max health with the medkit and cures any mortal wounds. Power sword is obvious pick, power stance deals with minors better than assaults hammer, not in damage but in crowd control. Speed style and dash gives a quick 3 stab combo with range also doing crowd control. And the light attack, waiting a sec, and light attack combo is pretty good, bolt pistol is for precision, plasma for damage, and neo volkite sucks. Sniper is short but obvious. Best against zoanthropes, great against neurothropes, better combined with tactical, and the cloak allows for easy revives. Use the bolt sniper or las, little difference except recoil, your choice. Heavy is very good, heavy bolter is my preferred choice. Has good ammo management precision shots is the bolter’s bread and butter, and is good from minoris to terminus. Plasma is a charged damage dealer and requires constant checking for ammo, and melta is simply good at crowd control and minoris. The perk bonds of brotherhood allows revives to max health, add a medkit to that and the mortal wound is gone and works with the guardian relic. Goes extremely well with bulwark, turning your mission into a masochist run. Hope this helps whoever is insane enough to read my rant/guide.

Update for vanguard, but replayed him and re-remember how one ability allows melee kills or finishers to regenerate 10% health. So if you’re confident in melee fights and close battles then you can maintain max health easily, so he fits with the bulwark and heavy masochist run.

Yeah about that no armor regen when far from teammates, they actually removed that feature cause of how unfair it felt, especially cause the radius was so small that you had to almost be holding hands to no leave the formation, and it made certain classes virtually impossible to play, mainly Assault and Vanguard since they're usually headfirst into the enemies.

Zanny if you want to beat all of lethal the best team setup I used : heavy/bulwark/tactical Heavy has a perk that when a teamate is manual revived ( bulwark revives don't register)they are instantly granted full health meaning they are 1 stim from removing mortal wound their plasma gun is also the pride of the armory as lord Decimus tells us Bulwark I could honestly say Coul be swapped out for another class but I like usual teaching bulwark as they aren't very good at the game how to actually effectively use they're class by spamming their banner the heavy has cooldown reduction perks I believe to combo this the flag however needs to still be used well only placed in group huddles often before an engagement if you can Tactical is just amazing the auspex is obviously amazing and his grenade launcher is amazing Tip for flying enemy's roll forward into their light beam attack as it will slightly reduce the frames in which it's in contact with you thus increasing your chance of a successful perfect dodge I'd love to give you a hand with thus but I'm currently ill leaking all colours of the traffic light system out my arse

Only scenario they lose in against a Helldiver is by writer's deus ex machina.

After beating all missions on lethal I’m pretty much positive you need someone playing sniper and bulwark. The sniper is essential for taking out majoris and extremis enemies and the bulwark is a waking max health station. Tactical is a great third class option with the grenade launcher or melta rifle. One of the perks allow you to get your grenade launcher shots back after a finishing move and the scanner makes boss fight way faster.

Ironically you can play pretty aggressive against the zenothrope with Bulwark. Usually when you get close they divert into the screaming animation then the pulse. Plant your flag and as long as you charge shot you gain faster than you lose. With the pulse I shield bash for damage bonus then chainsword stomp till he’s out. FYI if he’s only slightly above you you can use the stomp AOE to reach him.

With Tactical and Grenade Launcher spam Lethal can also be easy, but the trade off is you might get kicked or people will leave your game. The more you know. Also knowing this they may nerf grenade launcher damage or at least how much you can carry/get back from ammo.

The problem with the Heavy Bolter on Tactical is that you always ran out of bullets, and ammo is quite limited in Lethal. This is somewhat alleviated by a perk that gives free magazine. Even then, it has 30s cooldown and is best suited for a Melta build.

If you need help doing Lethal, let me know. I run it regularly. It's significantly easier now than it was when it first came out, so no worries there. As for credentials, got the helmet and sword within 2 days of Lethal launching, I have all weapons and classes maxed, and I still run Lethal to this day, just for fun. I'd say your squad lineup class wise wasn't really the issue, it's that you as the tactical are kind of just useless with a melta. You are essentially another frontliner when you use the melta, but when you've got an assault and a bulwark what your squad really needs is someone with ranged firepower. A bolter, stalker bolter, any plasma incinerator, anything would work really. Just not the melta.

11:43 2 melee against 'thropes sucks, yes, but Melta Gun and Multimelta are also some of the worst 'thrope killing primaries. You basically had to try to have a worse setup for a Neurothrope. Remember at 2:20 when it took 5 Melta Gun shots and a melee to drop a warrior into execute state? The Meltas are top-tier for crowd clearing, but their single target damage is atrocious.
