1.01^365. compound improvement. it really is 37X 😭. ofc this is only achievable if you start at a low rank or make val your full time job. if you're confused abt the math, it's an exponential function which you learn later in highschool so dw. its pretty cool though

About VOD reviewing. Sometimes, you just don't have anyone higher rank than you who's able to help. If that's the case, when you DON'T know what to do, look for a PRO player in similar scenario. There are thousands of VODs on yt, so you are more than likely to find an answer there. For example, if you don't know how to entry on Jett on Abyss, look up zekken's VOD, and see how he does it. And same with every question you get during or after the game. Maybe even have a notepad near you, so if you come up with question during game you can write it down. We have access to the kost optimised gameplay and it's important to use it.

I love this. I'm an Initiator main and I like to watch Sacy, Cavern, Ethan, FakeAnanas, Derrek, s0m, and Xeppaa. There's so much to learn but if you focus on one thing, lets say positioning when using util, a simple "Sova Ascent Sacy Vod" KZbin search will get you what you need.

The cycle for vod reviewing is mainly like this: 1. Get awareness (this can be the hardest step as you mostly don't know what you don't know and therefore becoming aware of it is hard. This is also the part where coaching comes in. Coaching will not automatically make you a better player but good coaching will give you awareness into your issues and give recommendations on how to fix them) 2. Experiment with fixes. Sometimes the first thing you try won't work out, or it will only solve part of the issue. Reflect on how those things went and build on your previous experiences to compound your gains. And remember, most of the time, fixing one issue will result in you getting awareness on more issues that you didn't have awareness on before because you didn't have enough prior knowledge to recognize them as mistakes or they weren't holding you back but now they are. 3. Making sure your changes become habits and you don't revert to your old and bad habits before making the new ones subconscious. (This step is one that is more easily done the more easily accessible instant feedback is on your habits. If you die because you reverted back to an old habit and you wouldn't have died if you did the proper action then it is easy to realize that you didn't execute on the correct action you wanted to execute on. However if this kind of feedback doesn't exist, more conscious effort is required for you to make sure you don't revert back to your old habits. This is important because we don't want to fix the same mistakes multiple times.)

One thing I have to add to the ineffective aim section: The first thing you have to do before pushing for highscores is to analyze your technique and become aware of your bad habits. Then you have to train the correct technique for every area and put conscious effort into avoiding your bad habits and training the correct ones. Only after the correct technique is subconscious you can push for scores. If you push for scores with bad technique you will hit roadblocks down the line that will by then have made you waste a lot of time as many of the hours spent training an incorrect technique are useless since you will need to train the correct technique and build up again after having spent a lot of time on the wrong technique. Another thing I have to add to the downplaying of raw aim part: I think it is a major misconception in the valorant community to say that crosshair placement is kind of like a substitute for aim, because I think your crosshair placement has everything to do with your aim. RoyalG explains this in his video "Your Idea of Crosshair Placement Is Wrong", and I find his insights to be incredibly accurate.

@Tauchfix
@Tauchfix Күн бұрын
Alright time for a little rant about the study section coming from somebody in a similar situation as you that is very interested in learning psychology and research. I will go through all the points you mentioned and give my take on them. 1. Notes are useless. I agree to a certain extend. Rereading is absolutely useless, if it is just info on the page that you need then the textbook or internet will suffice but if it is knowledge you want then just making and rereading notes is useless. Why? I will explain that later. 2. Abuse the hell out of memorization Absolutely not! This is one of the worst things you can do and to explain this I will go into detail about how knowledge and memory works. It goes like this: Info in -> processing(Working memory) -> storing(long-term memory). How and to what quality something is stored depends entirely on the processing that is happening and that processing is defined only by the type of thinking that you do. The types of thinking can be classified into different levels and I would recommend you to take a look at blooms taxonomy as I will be using that to explain this further. The thing is, if you analyze something and even evaluate that information, it will inevitably be more interconnected to other info in your brain. Because it is more connected it is also more relevant for your brain and therefore it will be retained for longer and is more easily usable. If you only try to memorize it, then you will only be able to recall it in that way, you won't be able to evaluate it and will struggle with curveball questions that make you apply some concepts in a new context you haven't encountered before. I think you are correct when you say that in school memorization is way too important because that is the truth and it is sad. The school system comes from a time where it wasn't a goal to teach people how to think, back then all the system needed was factory workers that were encouraged not to think as that would have been dangerous for the political landscape at the time. But sadly the system didn't change even though nowadays memorization and even understanding isn't needed anymore at all. We have the Internet and AI, so there is no need to know an endless amount of facts anymore, what is needed is the ability to think deeply about information, solve complex problems and gain new skills quickly. Just trying to memorize or understand isn't going to get you anywhere but sadly everyone who has gone through the school system will have a lot of bad habits in this area as that is what has worked and you have trained for years. You might say: "But I am able to solve problems and evaluate information when needed in an exam, even though I am only memorizing that information." Yes you are, and you can be grateful. The reason for this is what in the research is called deep processing and what is generally meant when people talk about "intelligence". It is the ability to manipulate and analyze and evaluate information subconsciously to a certain degree. You are basically doing the right process subconsciously to an extent and only because of this are you able to achieve high grades with your strategy. Someone else who isn't "naturally intelligent" would really struggle because all of what they are trying to memorize are actually just isolated pieces of information that don't make sense and they just memorize them because they think that this will allow them to succeed. But since they don't subconsciously process the information at a higher level, they won't be able to do well during exams as they are unable to use the information in the way they would need to. What I am getting at is that you are not succeeding because of the way you study but despite it. The way you treat info consciously is only holding you back, and the subconscious processes you have are carrying you. ( I was in the same situation. I didn't write any notes, I didn't study basically at all but I still got top marks. I didn't even try to memorize the info, I just did because subconsciously I processed it at a higher level and therefore it was more relevant for my brain and therefore I just naturally remembered it. And the reason that I didn't even try to memorize it was because I hated memorizing. It is so boring and dreadful that I just didn't care for it and luckily I didn't need to) This also explains why making notes and rereading is useless, it is only targeted at trying to memorize and even for that it is ineffective. That being said, notes have a use. You should use them to aid your cognitive processes, but this is a whole other discussion that I will not get into right now. Now the question is, why am I even writing this, when what you are doing is currently working our great for you. The reason is because I think this can and will hold you back in all areas of your life. By training yourself to only think about information passively and superficially instead of really trying to analyze and evaluate, you will inevitably do so in other parts of your life as well. You will not be able to think about your problems deeply enough leading your reflections to be less effective. You will not be able to analyze your gameplay and decisions as effectively as you could, which means you might not pick up on bad habits and tendencies that hinder your growth, and of course the academic challenges will only grow and if you try to beat them in the same ineffective way, your subconscious ability might not be able to carry you anymore going forward leading you to have worse results. So what would I change? Treat information that is coming in differently. Ask questions like why is this piece of information important? How is it related to something else? and let your curiosity guide you. I would highly recommend you to look into this a bit more and my recommendation is the video "5 Ways to train yourself to be a genius" by Justin Sung. Justin is definitely very knowledgable in this field and that video builds on what I talked about in this comment in more depth and will hopefully change your perspective. His other videos are also all very good so I hope you have learned something from this comment and will learn more in the future.

@@Tauchfix hey man i used to be exactly like you but i realized for highschool there's no point in understanding (for me). the most I'd do is listen in class and make a basic framework in my head and memorize the text, but the sad fact about the education system is memorization is just more time efficient unless you're going to use the information in your real life for most people they don't need to understand shit and just need to know how to get good grades, and i think my method works because it takes no skill to do

I have an interesting problem. I cant seem to hit my shots recently and in game i feel like im fricking iron again. My Kovaaks scores are the same or even higher than before but i just cant seem to hit a target in-game. I was thinking this could be cuz i ranked up to silver and my opponents are better, but this is still way too drastic going from consistent match 3rd or above to bottomfrag most games. I tried making a drastic change like going from 1600 0.19 to 1600 0.35 which helped a bit, but not much.
