If I may add, this is how I decide whether I exchange my hard-earned rubies to a character or not, in this new economy: 1. Do I need it in Ranked Cup (60%) 2. Is it a new character and does it have special skill, (40%) e.g. Coinbox, Boomerang, Lucky 7 and Giant Banana (at least, for driver) But you are right, there is no single strategy that fits all kinds of players. There may be other strategies out there that are suitable for some players.

Wow, this is really annoying if the datamine turns out to be true. I just need the Gold Chuck for next week. I saved my rubies to get him but if everything fails I guess I'll have to settle for Chef Luigi, Pink Ninja Guy or one of the other top shelf drivers on Donut Plains 1 R/T instead :(

From what we saw before Multiplayer Pipes were removed: you can get rubies from them as well. I wonder if perhaps they’re trying to encourage players to “grind” out rubies from multiplayer rather than from single player? Although it’s still scummy that rather than guaranteed rubies it’s now a random chance.

I'll be honest, I kind of prefer gatcha to this. There way too few rubies, even if you're gold pass. Though this might be because there isn't access to online, because there are pipes you can earn by scoring well online. Not many people know this because online was only up for a very limited period of time.

The answer is account dependent. That's not a glider that is a universal best fit for everyone's inventory. Make use of the coverage optimizer tool (link is in the description of every recent video).
