Not bad. To bad there were so many issues trying to get it all to work great together. That led kit wow. Think I would have given up and just gotten a led kit that was independent of the printer. Although it would not have the alternating colors though :( But looks like it is working great now :) Thanks for sharing :)

I really enjoy watching what these printers can do. Someday it will have a modification for printing food :] and we can call it a replicator.

Hello! Thanks for posting this video! Could you please share the settings you find more apropriate for the Innofill PVA filament? I also have a Velleman Vertex K8400 printer with a dual extrusion and it's the first time I spend one week trying to get a decent work with this Innosolve filament. But seeing that it's possible is very encouraging :D Thanks again!

I found Innofil to be a nightmare to work with... It extrudes OK at 210-230C, but it is very moisture sensitive and has a big tendency to hiss, crackle and pop as it extrudes. I also found that trying to get plastics to extrude on top of the innofil was very difficult as the had adhesion problems and ended up falling off part way through the print. I haven't attempted to use it again since this video, and have instead been using different plastics as support materials... PLA is a good support for PET (and vice versa) because they don't bond to each other. Hope that helps. Cheers!!

Jim Conner Ok! I'm having the same problems. It doesn't wan't to adhere to the platform no matter the height of the platform... Since now I was thinking that it was a temperature issue so I decided to decrease the temperature of the nozzle and incease the fanspeed but... it was in vain. So i'll try to go back to 210°C Thanks a lot! :-)

Hey Jim I have been watching your serie about the vertex k8400 and now i bought one thanks to you. My question is : If you had to order by priority the upgrades you did to the vertex what would it be ? (heatbed, dual extruder, rgb, custom printed pieces etc..)

Hi Hassan - The absolute first upgrade I'd do is print off a couple of these... www.thingiverse.com/thing:1078641 ... They have the holes in a slightly different location to make inserting the filament easier. Second upgrade should be the heat bed. Dual extruders was something of a let-down because of there's a steep learning curve in getting dual extruder prints without oozing from the unused nozzle causing problems. The only things I've done with dual extruders have all been feautred in this series, but I've actually unscrewed the second extruder nozzle for day-to-day use. E3D hot-ends are a very worthwhile upgrade later down the road when you've got familiar with getting the best from the printer... highly recommend those. Final upgrade I'd do is the Trinamic TMC2100 stepper motor drivers, which get you near-silent operation... but that upgrade involves changes to the cooling setup, so leave that one till least. Hope that helps. Cheers!!

Hi Jim. I am using simplify 3d and cant get the extruders to line up when i try do a rpint with dual color. it starts with the one color but when its time for color number 2 it prints it beside it. I have tried pretty much every tip i have found on internet. do you know how to fix this?

Hi JIm - I had that problem to begin with. The setting in the software for the distance between the nozzles was wrong by default. Can't remember what the correct number was off the top of my head (I measured with a ruler). Hope that helps. Cheers!!

I've replaced the board cause it was too slow for 2 nozzles., pausing every time. I replaced the board with a Bigtreetech skr V1.3 and TMC drivers. Far faster this is a 32 bit board and TMC drivers are more silent then the stock drivers. I use SPI mode. This board is smaller then the amtmega 2560 board.0
