One thing I noticed a long time ago about mohs hardness of different materials: was the shocking hardness of Platinum, being identical to hardness of Iron.

It is NOT a steel case. Its a stainless steel rear cover ! Since when does stainless steel have a coating or fake bead blasting ? Stainless steel cases have screw in case backs, not pop fit. How could steel be soft enough for you to create big divots trying to lever off the cover ? All the other channels that reviewed this watch say it's a plated Chinesium (zinc alloy) case ! Generally, you can't buy stainless steel for less than $30.

I have 2 Casio watches, because they don't ever break (they eventually leak) from 2002 and 2013. Recently got a Duro batman and added a stainless bracelet.

I think the ideal is to buy the model with a screwed crown and solar quartz, which is much more resistant, because that Seagull ST16 movement is very basic and of low quality, I think.

The better Seiko Field watch is the SRPJ81 and other variations of it. It's the smaller version of the SRGP. It has a smaller case at 36mm. A field watch was designed to go under a field shirt and jacket. And should not be more than 38mm. I read the Amazon reviews on the Timex and there are lots of complaints.

I don't get why people wear gloves for doing watch reviews... If the goal is to not leave fingerprints... why? They can be wiped off. All the times I watched you clack the watches together and you can hear metal on metal impacts... those nicks and scratches are likely a bigger concern then fingerprints, no? ;-)

I own an ALBA Solar ( Seiko's SE Asia brand) after owning several Seiko and ALBA branded automatics...all of which happily travelled the World with me...I live in Melbourne, Australia. I believe Solar is the future for watches...at aĺl price points. I imported this ALBA V158-0AX0 from Japan, instead of Singapore where I usually shopped when passing through. Keep up the good work...I'll look for your videos in fufure.

The Seiko will be scratched up soon, because of its cheap crystal. The Timex has a very good sapphire crystle; it won't scratch up.

I buy a Casio shock AWG 100 solar around 2009, still working like first day I buy it, also have to mention that is multi band 5 is always adjusting the right time according tho the atomic clock, I don’t have to worry about adjusting time

I have the Bulova, To me it looks very elegant, even more expensive than it looks

Great review!!! That Seiko mvmt is indeed a workhorse plus you get the added functionality of the day/date, though I think that classic timeless and iconic asthetic of the American Field Watch in the timex is a beauty!

Who fakes a Tissot?

I 've been thinking lately why luxury companies DON'T have solar quartz movements and offer them at a more affordable price as to not cannibalize their auto mechanical watches. Tag Heuer is the only company that has such an offering (Aqua Racer solar) but it is quite pricey...We need MORE companies to offer luxury watches with solar quartz up to 1500€.

Well you only tried level 7 and level 8, no in between. Maybe one would scratch at 7.3 and the other wouldn't. Or 7.5, or whatever... Its a big jump from 7 to 8
