I cannot, for the life of me, understand the whole premise of the pizza crap because at the end they want to go on the boat to the evacuation boat. If it was that damn important for this broad, she would’ve simply snuck out and gone there while being in the hospice. The cat was dumb. The best thing about this movie is the main character dies which I actually clapped when I saw it. I was truly happy

I’m trying to think about the last time I’ve ever hated a movie as much as this one. Nothing comes up. This might be my most hated movie. It went from “ok, I like this perspective, super interesting” to “why did this turn into a romantic suicide movie?”

Hot take, I have not seen anyone who does not like this movie besides this guy. It is a very entertaining movie that follows a character that the audience knows that will die. She is terminally ill and all she wants is to have her fav food one last time while the world crumbled around her. Great movie

I'm not even 5 minutes into your video and I have to stop watching. I don't think you actually watched the movie? The first scene we get is of the lizard in a cage - forshadowing how she is about to become the one trapped in a glass cage to be observed. The vape scene happens *after* the salesguy was talking about the self cleaning habitats. She stepped outside to vape and he followed her to tell her the animals don't like her smoke - maybe foreshadowing the control of what was to come? The bird wasn't being delivered to a client, but to a zoo. The salesguy mentioned how the scenic drive might help "take her mind off things." She talked to the bird at her apartment and jokingly said "try not to die" which is what he later mimicked at the coop when it had a more sinister meaning. I don't know how you could have watched the movie and not understood why she likes to wear wigs and pretend to be someone else. She literally spells it out for you. When she tells the bird "you wouldn't like the real me either" she's saying hates herself. She's constantly running away from the guilt of her mom's death. She wants to be anyone but herself. She gets a call from her twin sister, not just some friend. And that's as far as I made it. I just feel like if you're going to properly criticize a movie, your facts should be accurate at the very least.

In a world where there are so many niche phenomenonal horror films with franchise potential, it pisses me off that crap like this keeps getting churned out. We live in a world where a studio would rather sleep on a film like Trick r Treat and prop up utter garbage like this

Movie was boring as fuck, its basically Harold and Kumar go to white Castle set in a Quiet place universe, the protagonist and conpletely unlikeable and actually makes me root for the aliens to kill her immediately, her friend Eric is basically a bitch and hes treated as such by Harold err i mean Samarria, the plot is pointless, the movie doesn't expand the lore at all, and the writing is a complete mess.

The cat was so chill because it was a therapy cat, trained to be quiet when people are stressed.

Man this movie was Dog Shit Dumb. It relied on the Novelty of a Black Female Lead to drive the Story. It should have been the equivalent of James Cameron’s Aliens where we get to see the Death Angels invade New York City and decimate the Military.

I just recently watched it on Netflix. I think there was a massive lost opportunity here. If I was writing this movie, I would not reveal the fact that this was Earth in the past. I would make it seem like a futuristic sci-fi movie, but then after they crash land, you start seeing hints that it is in fact Earth, like for example having our familiar moon in the sky in a shot, without drawing much attention to it. That also means not calling it "65", but something else instead. And not revealing the entire plot in the intro scene. Then, I would have as realistic dinosaurs as I could. I would consult as many paleontologists I could to try to make an accurate portrayal of the world in the final days before the end of the cretaceous period. What would it be like to be on foot as a human sized animal in those final days. The discovery of the incoming asteroid would be timed to the same point as most audience will finally realize it is actually ancient Earth. The dinosaurs should look, and act like the real animals they were, instead of generic protagonist-seeking monsters. The raptors would have feathers and the t-rex would not be a hideous "skin stretched over skeleton"-monster, but rather look even more life-like than the fairly naked and basic t-rex we had in the Jurassic Park movies. If the current consensus is that it had some feathers, then give it feathers and so on. Also, let's see some herbivores. The reason the first dino reveal in Jurassic Park is so awesome is because it's a massive sauropod. Having the first thing on screen to be some deformed raptor-like creature doesn't do the majesty of dinosaurs any justice. Oh, and that four-legged "t-rex" in the end would NOT be included. It was ridiculous and made no sense. Neither from a biological point of view, nor from the fossil records. The main plot could still revolve around the two survivors trying to get to the escape shuttle, but giving it the "plot twist" of the "alien planet" actually being ancient Earth would give the movie something extra. And maybe even insinuate that it was their ship that nudged the asteroid onto a collision course with Earth. Not necessarily important, but would be fun. All in all, I give this movie a 4/10. It is watchable and the actors do a good enough job. But overall, it's not very good and I won't watch it again.

Hate to be a stickler but you must have been drunk AF during this movie, you got the Lesbian couple mixed up, was the Indian girl and the birthday day girl (redhead) they were literally cuddled up to each other for the first part of the movie in the mansion, they "tried" to burn the cards in the fire but they would not burn, also where is the consistancy? this movie needs so much plot armour, we have to believe that the Jester just decided not to kill Ned because meh we need him to save his friends by offering them a lift, absolute trash.

You say Ned's scenes and dialogue were the best, man if that is all this movie is standing on then it has some serious issues, this movie tried to be funny, all the jokes landed flat, when it was trying to be scary it used obvious jump scares, actually it is saturated with jump scares, I have seen better B grade horror movies, this was absolute trash, the writting was aweful and it's delivery was even worse, made no sense at all.

I feel like maybe some of the answers and complaints would be posed if you rewatched the movie, bc the things you complained about WERE explained. Like the cards not being burned, they couldnt be burned and its not like a onr of you could have blinked and missed, the characters talked about it for a good minute and the old lady gave an explanation.

day one was a terrible movie we need part three

Having a pet in a movie like this is complete nonsense. So unrealistic. I liked the first two movies, but I regret watching this. The biggest sin a movie can commit is to bore you and it accomplished that.

How dare you make fun of this amazing movie. It had interesting themes and wasn't boring for even a second. All the characters were smart, especially the non main characters that run around screaming and grabbing people. This movie was def not too long. Perfect length. The death scenes were so sick and unpredictable. That guy who stops the loud machine and then smiles... I had no idea what was going to happen right after that. It was also realistic how the cat never makes a single noise and is immortal. This movie had very few cliches and did something WAY different. This movie blows. It should have never made it past the halfway point. Pure trash.

Also John Krasinski did not directly write Day One, but he had the idea for it and collaborated with Michael Sarnoski. Don’t know why it’s a critique that he didn’t write this film, even if he helped to give it a starting ground of story ideas.

I'm so late to the party but i just happened to be bored enough to watch movie and immediately looked up every REVIEW i could find to make sure I wasn't going crazy. So we all agree...The movie was awful but the one thing that i havent heard one person mention so i thought i would comment is in reference to the guy on the missing poster/ referenced by waitress as "big city guy who came thru and they never saw again"/ is the same guy killed at the opening and also the dead body that the female lead saw while she was hiding under the leaves Obviously, the movie still wasnt good but i just thought maybe that will end up meaning something in the other movies 🤔🤔

In the first theatre shelter, there is a scene where military helicopters order survivors to shelter in place and to "make no sound." This happens after the survivors have already been quietly sheltering, I can only assume the helicopters are circling around making the announcements multiple times. There were more military helicopters that announced the "attackers" as unable to swim/cross water alongside the order to go to the port, so that's why they were using boats and why the boats knew it was safe to use their horn.

And the one cool thing this show "came up with", the short lightsaber, wasn't even from this show originally. Not only did Ahsoka have a lightsaber shoto blade in her off-hand as a padawan, but LUKE SKYWALKER had a red shoto blade in the old EU comics/novels to help him defeat Lady Lumiya (who ironically also had a light-whip like Venestra does, which cannot be anything but a direct reference to this event).
