I was thinking of getting a modulation pedal : When first listened to your video I thought ( that sounds great ) then I realised the effect was off. I preferred the sound of your guitar without it. Great video thanks, however the tremolo effect is not for me.

yeah but... no compression dial, switches are hidden inside the casing. Not very handy, it seems. Confusing to a novice to compressors. Probably more for the pro.
@HomeGuitarMods4 ай бұрын
I’ve had this 10 years now (age of the video) and it’s still on all the time on my board. Between the blend volume and the switch it’s done what I need it too (bring soft notes up but let me still play dynamically). The switches inside just adjust the attack and I haven’t looked at them sense I shot this video. If I want hard squishy MXR dynacomp style compression, blend set to max and switch set med or high. For subtle compression that brings soft notes up and adds sustain, which is how I use it, blend at 11 o’clock, volume at 1 o’clock, switch on lo. Thanks for watching!

@@HomeGuitarMods thank you for a very detailed response! I don't doubt it's a good pedal, but as a novice, I'd need to play with dials a lot to figure out what works best in what situation... an attack knob would be nice to have.

THis gives me a little hope, but so far, the intensity on this pedal really sucks - like on a scale of 1-10 it's a 2 !

Does it work like the joyo 5 that you charge it like a phone and you can use it without plugging it into the wall? Or does it have to be connected always to the main electricity for it to work?

Yeah, it sounds like any other reverb I’ve ever heard, very basic, but for that price range I wanted an inexpensive one for my keyboards and $45 after Amazon discount got me the Pockverb by Amoon, and it gives my Avalanche run a run for it’s money!

I have not, but I’ve been using the Regular Earnie Ball and coil cables the last two summers gigging and I love them. They take a lot of abuse.

Quick question. I have the exact mufflers on my Yamaha Fjr1300. Does removing the baffles negatively affect my bike motor?
@HomeGuitarMods Жыл бұрын
Not that I have experienced. However, as with any muffler change, you may need to get the bike dyno tested and adjusted. I had a carbureted v star that needed bigger jets after installing a V&H exhaust, but I’ve had 5 bikes after this Katana and haven’t had issues.

Звук у этого компрессора откровенное барахло, не пойму что все от него тащатся, идёт сплошная середина, нет ни высоких, не низких частот,дебильный звук, у людей что нет слуха, а вот Карл Мартин компрессор- это класс !!!

Hi Anthony. I use my POD HD500X for overdrive and it sounds great through my Fender Stage Lead amp. However, when I go to an unaffected clean sound, the gain is a lot lower than the overdrive setting. How do I achieve unity gain with the overdrive and the clean settings? Thanks, Don Arnold
@HomeGuitarMods Жыл бұрын
My suggestion would be to play straight into the amp with your guitar and see how loud it is. Then plug the Pod in and play clean and adjust to get the same volume level. Then turn on your overdrive and adjust its volume.

I run this pedal into a Fender Pro Jr. that I mounted into a Mojo Tone tweed cabinet with a 12 inch Warehouse speaker. Ballsy little rig with humbuckers or single coil guitars.

@Anthony I live in China and I've used one of these for 7 years (gigging about once every 3 weeks between 2015-2019). It was very cheap and I was really expecting it to blow at anytime and carried a spare with me for the first year of regular gigs - but it's still going strong. About half the time we were going through big PA's but never found an issue with noise. The one downside I found was that if we were in a small gig and the lights were very low if the power supply lights were shining upwards, the blue lights were really blinding (no really I'm a little long sighted and when there was also sweat in my eyes it wasn't fun). I soon learned to attach it or hide it under my pedal board.

Thank you. Interesting review. If you turn the Blend knob all the way down, removing the clean signal, the compressor doesn't seem like anything special. In such a situation, a good Dinacomp will be better. I got the impression that this is a compressor for those who want it to be on all the time, while the Dynacomp is still to create an effect for a while.
@HomeGuitarMods Жыл бұрын
If you turn the blend knob all the way down the compression effect is removed. Turn it all the way up and then you get that dynacomp squish.
@Vikkk1978 Жыл бұрын
@@HomeGuitarMods Yes thank you. I was a little wrong. But I meant that it would be correct to compare this compressor with Dynacomp without blending a clean signal.

Currently using the American Sound direct into the PA at the church I lead and play at, because my Night Train head is failing on me. I was REALLY impressed with using it as a clean platform for my pedals, with just a hint of hair. It has a similar bottom end bloom and spankiness to the Fender combos and even a Tyler PT14 (gasp) that I've borrowed. I prefer amps, but these are actually easier to mix in the FOH when you need to keep stage noise minimal.
