I really like the first two shoes. And I actually like the straps on the blue shoes -- am I really dated? 😅 But fashion is so finicky -- all the clothes I've kept over the last two decades are making a comeback and I'm glad I never got rid of certain pieces. I'm now shopping for a suit for my son and he wants something similar to the YSL collection from 2024 -- you know what those suits look like? Suits from the 90's -- the oversized suits. 😬I really wish he would just choose a more classic fitting suit as that will just last him forever so long as he maintains his physique. 😄
@mariemercurius2 күн бұрын
@sekaieikou1894 The second shoes are black and no you're not dated. Everyone has a preference but I will say, it makes it easier to put on without the straps. True, so many things do come back in style. Hanging on to the unique pieces is worth it! Hope you and your son can agree on a suit. I agree though with a classic style....at least for his first one. 😊
@sekaieikou18942 күн бұрын
@@mariemercurius Oh my bad, the shoes looked dk. blue on my screen. I probably like shoes to be a bit extra because my outfits tend to be "really boring" according to my son. 🤣 My son picks up a ton of suits mostly from thrift shops so this is his 10th suit or something. He's a music kid so he's been in suits since grade school for performances and such. I wanted him to look sharper on stage so I offered to get him his next suit with proper measurements and then of course he insists on the oversized suit...😂

I admire you for sharing experiences like this us. I think most of us go through difficult times but because of what people see when we watch videos, we can assume someone has a cush or fairytale life. TBH I assumed u did. And so I appreciate you letting me know you've had hard times too❤ I'm looking forward to when u talk about your dental care routine and products. I found out my floss I've used for probably more than 10 years has forever chemicals in it so I switched over to silk floss by radius. It's pricey and breaks easily but I it's worth it. I guess it's the forever chemicals that we're making the other floss strong and also glide If it weren't for the makeup products they would use I would ask if you've considered modeling? I just think you're such a beautiful reflection of women my age and ethnicity and there could be a career for u in it I hope one day you'll let us hear you singggg🎉
@mariemercurius8 күн бұрын
@Plum-20 i tried bamboo flossing picks but didn't like them. Glide shreds a bit but I will look for the one by radius. Thanks for sharing. Our mouths have a microbiome so we need to keep that in check. I did a wee bit of modeling back in the day. I would have to bring and do my own makeup if I was to do any modeling today. I'm a shorty though, under 5'5 which I think is too short these days. I'll probably bust out some tunes in some upcoming videos. 😁

@@mariemercurius Glide by oral b is what I was using that that has the forever chemicals, was that the same glide u mentioned or is that a glide silk floss?
@mariemercurius8 күн бұрын
@Plum-20 it's Glide the oral b floss. Some of teeth are tight together so Glide was great because it doesn't shed
@Plum-207 күн бұрын
@@mariemercurius Yeah, that's one I gave up (it's advertised as dental tape and it is flat to get between teeth) Although radius silk floss breaks I think this happens more because I'm pulling to much with my hands, I guess that's what I'm used too. I'm flossing now mindfully to relax and try not to pull so hard. As long as I remember it works out. I know which teeth to be particularly gentle and attentive to when flossing so it won't break. I brush my teeth and gargle with Celtic salt. That's all I use lol. I agree about our mouth microbiota and I heard recently about teeth being remineralized and I'm wondering if the Celtic salt will do that, I'm hopeful❤

I think for a lot of folks it is a response to the hyper-consumerism that is so prevalent in the US. The environmental impacts of fast fashion and companies like Shein and Temu are making mainstream news and I think many folks want to walk a bit lighter on the earth. I should mention I work in the sustainability field so I'm probably more likely to cross paths with folks that are doing it for this reason. I also think there is a realization that accumulating stuff doesn't make you happy and with prices rising people are being a lot more thoughtful about what they purchase in general. Personally I try to keep my buying to a minimum all the time. If I do need something and I can buy it used or refurbished I'll try that first. I make very regular use of my local buy nothing group - both for giving away stuff and finding things I might need. I also try to mend or repair things where that is an option to get as much use out of something as I can. If I have to buy new I will try to get it from a company this is socially and environmentally responsible - not always possible but I do my best. I think a lot of people are rethinking how they consume for a whole host of reasons.

i think the prices of literally everything going up, ppl are struggling. the quality of things, especially clothes, is also going down. & there’s more awareness on sustainability and unhealthiness of overconsumption in general
@mariemercurius10 күн бұрын
I agree that more people are becoming aware and are shifting their focus to being more sustainable however there are some folks that are showing no signs of curbing their spending. I suppose one can do what the want with their money. I just question the need for all of the hauls. Is there a void they're trying to fill.
@MassielMancebo12 күн бұрын
I tried a no-buy January and a social media cleanse, and frankly, I failed at both. I failed at social media because I made a lot of new friends that wanted to add me, and then as you say, the January sales were too good, so I’ve ended up buying 4-5 things. I low key feel awful, but maybe I should just learn to not be so hard on myself and that is the true January lesson 🤣
@mariemercurius10 күн бұрын
If the things that you bought were must haves, then don't feel guilty. You saved some money so that is a win! A social media black out is a healthy but it's figuring out the best time to do it. Some really great friendships could potentially come out from some of the people that wanted to add you and that's a good thing!

I'm in SF Bay so the prices you experience in Toronto are comparable. I'm a frugal minimalist so I bargain hunt 24/7-- I clip coupons, shop during off season (and second hand) for clothes we need, buy whatever I can at the Dollar Store, all that....But living like this also allows me to spend money elsewhere and more freely when I need to spend. Just this morning my daughter and I were discussing things that need to be fixed in our home but I told her I'm not fixing non-essential items at this time so we have to be a bit inconvenienced/embarrassed by the unkept garden or the garage door that is not operating with the main switch (it opens but only with the openers in our cars). Tackling those items once I pay the car insurance fees for next month -- which spiked up because of the LA fires...😔 Still grateful that I woke up above ground this morning and have the means to pay it....💛

I like Dr. Mindy too. I don't follow hard rules on fasting and just incorporate it when it's convenient. I have read that dry fasting is 3 times more effective than water fasting so there was a time (a few months ago) I would stop eating/drinking at 5 pm and not eat/drink until next morning at 10 am or so. I did lose more belly fat without much exercise doing that but I did shower during the fast, so technically it was a soft dry fast. And I agree with spicesmiles -- blue/aqua is a great color on you. 😊
