How much money do you need to do a big trip, based on your trip ? Well done 🎉
@TheWanderingWasp14 сағат бұрын
It depends on how you travel too. How you eat and sleep and the pace of travel. The slower the travel, the less you you spend per day. I spend around singapore dollar $23,000 over 27 months.

My first motorcycle (scooter) was a 1959 Lambretta when I was still too young for a driver's license and got my first citation for riding it on the street anyway. There are a lot of advantages to touring on the smallest bike that will do the job which is basically carrying yourself and ~60-70 pounds of traveling gear at a reasonable speed, say 50 mph. I have toured over 30,000 miles by bicycle so any kind of scooter or motorcycle would be a step up.

50,000km on my 110cc Honda in Vietnam. Nothing wrong with using the "best" gear but missing the chance because you're waiting for it? Great video, hit me up in Vietnam.

Based on my experience, the best motorcycle for touring/overlanding is the motorbike you currently have, no matter how many cc, what type, and the important thing is that it can still be used and runs well. Just be confident, have a healthy body, prepare your mind... and go.

Maybe you should extend your journey from Prague to all over Europe one day: but in the summer month May to September only. Rest of the year the weather is too bad.

So true. I lost my job in 2009. Didn't really find something new and rode on my bicycle to China and then continued around the world until the start of the pandemic. Wouldn't change a thing if someone offered me a trip to the past.
@TheWanderingWasp3 күн бұрын
Whoa, so you cycled for 10 years?

I'm not rich like most other people on the planet and worked for 4 years in Canada and Australia while I was on my way. Continuously moving around had a toll on my mind and it was good to stop in a place for longer. It doesn't need to be a stop for months and a break of 1 to 3 weeks helped me. Sometimes I needed to stop because of a visa application for example. Cycling can be pretty cheap if you're willing to sleep in your tent most nights. I would say the biggest cost was food. Other bigger expenses were visas, flights, equipment replacements. The daily expenses were pretty low actually. When I rode around with my 50cc scooter in Europe I figured out the daily expenses were roughly: 10 € fuel 8 to 15 € food 15 to 20 € camping ground A weekly oil change adds to the cost of traveling with my scooter. Both vehicles have good and bad sides. The most important thing might be to leave your area to see and experience new stuff and locations.

Lovely and inspiring video. I remember seeing a film some time ago about a guy who rode a B.S.A.Bantam 125 from the u.k.to Vietnam just before the war officially kicked off and becoming a famous war photographer. Anyone out there remember the title of the film? Thank you.

When I started thinking about smaller, lighter and simpler, I eventually end up thinking about a bicycle! Although I must say, a 125-250cc commuter bike might be the sweet spot for me on something with an engine. My Honda 225 has done 150k km, over 100k of which was touring, so when it's nearing the end of its life I might load up the panniers, ride it around the world and scrap it at the end of the journey or when it gives up.

You are a very intelligent young lady. As an 80 year old motorcycle and scooter rider for most of my life, I must say I really enjoy your videos. The one nit I would add though, is that people (like me) sometimes have hearing issues and the background music can get to be annoying. Wishing you all the best in your future adventures.
