It looks STUNNING! How people can ruin beautiful wood with paint is beyond comprehension.

These furniture restoration people are always trying to do a modern take on a beautiful old piece of furniture and then make it look like dog 💩. I wish they would restore it the way it used to be and not make it so ugly

That has nothing to do with a regular and good restauration. Wrong finish, wrong knobs... And by the way: You can buy a dresser of this era around 1840/60 for about 400-600 Euro in mint original condition. 😊

Very distinct tools for handling this gem, but in my anxiety fix I resort to very primitive tools, things for touching the ancient pieces. Mine are scary tools like first slightly wetting the piece altogether, paint comes right up, and there’s less chipping any delicate crevices, and angles, always laying down a cloth or plastic, paper sheet is fine, then watch the magic begin, using a butter knife and steak knife as my preferred tools, and a cloth with mineral oil slightly soaked for cleaning up, and sometimes adding gold details, but no poking holes are allowed, screwdriver or screw gun also for removing screws, and glue gun for adhesive to specific areas. Tone crayons, and then just using tint by acrylics, blended out in a wash, and then apply polish. So many steps here but I also like to leave some history on the pieces that I work on, but there’s so much intricacies in these steps shown,it would take a long time just finding the equipment because I have no patience😂
