I like the grass as a snuffle matt idea. My mini auss hole looooves wet grass. We can try this tomorrow morning. Dude also loves icecubes, holding them in his mouth, pushing it all around hard floors, as long as it's not completely melted.
@dreamgaits3 күн бұрын
Hi Anna, Thanks for the comment and watching. I like to find natural ways that dogs appreciate to entertain them and build a bond. Running, chasing, hunting in the grass and finding "prey' in the form of food is about as fulfilling as it gets. And by the way, you have a mini aussie not an auss hole. I find it sad that anyone would refer to their beloved pet in this way. Bring out the good and don't focus on the negative for best results from your mini aussie.
@annag4673 күн бұрын
@@dreamgaits true, i'll cease that name. He has only love and wonder going on for me. He loved the snuffling in the grass, and it showed me that he will always sniff where he can even if he can see something.

This is workin on my 4 month old toy aussie, Rupert. Hes been coming when called fairly reliably, and hes so smart that he sort of reads body language to predict what i want him to do when he arrives, or maybe the environment or time of day tells him whatabouts i want us to work on. I need your advice on buying a plastic travel carrier for my SUV. In a few days I'll be picking up my adult female Australian Sheperd who I'm told is 16" tall. I need your help, what size do I have to buy, so I can get her home safely??? I've asked various people, and no one can tell me the answer. I TOTALLY trust your advice on this breed of dog. Keep up the great videos.
@dreamgaits14 күн бұрын
Oh boy, lots of questions left unanswered. You have to consider how far the trip is and why you want to use plastic over wire. For car transport wire is way better in my opinion. They can see out better and get better ventilation. Bigger is always better so consult the breeder or owner on what size they use. If they don't use a crate get one that is meant for a dog her size and keep in mind the 16" is at the shoulder. She needs room to stand comfortably and lie down without being cramped.

Hello! My Husband & I adopted a rescue 18month Sheltie. She was given treats frequently by her owner. She is only trained to walk on a lease, she knows her name, sit, somewhat potty trained, crate trained. *How do I end her constant looking for treats when we go outside? *How do I get her to understand go potty outside? (we are on day 3 having her here and she's had one accident. She gets taken out every 2-3 hours and always after she wakes up from a nap, about 15mins. After she's eats, before bed, and in the morning when it's time to get up. *what video should I watch to start her training? Thank you!❤

Hi Jennifer, I will make a video for you and others in your situation. Too many great questions to answer in writing I would have to write an essay. LOL First of all try to slow down and relax! Thank you so much for these videos! Last year after watching one of your previous videos about titer we decided to walk away from our first vet who scheduled us a bunch of different types of vaccines on our first visit (and they called those vaccines "required"🙃. We decided to find a holistic vet and fortunately we found one. They suggested us to do the titer in three years. I think at least we found a vet who can be trusted on the vaccination suggestions 🙂
@dreamgaits19 күн бұрын
There is only ONE vaccine required by law and that is rabies. Vets have become so controlling that they won't see a pet without the "required" vaccines. Distemper and Parvo are a must for puppies, titers after. All the other vaccines are mostly a scam in my humble opinion. The entire vet industry is sewing seeds of distrust with their vaccines scams.
@sz245919 күн бұрын
@@dreamgaits Right... And it's ridiculous that we were turned down by all the nearby daycare facilities because Sundae didn't get the Bordetella vaccine... Dog owners really need to do their own research to decide what is the best for our puppies's health.

Do you have any recommendations to repel fleas for my toy aussie? The vet pushed the monthly pill recently but I said NO. Our Gus had a reaction last year after the 3rd monthly dose and I said no more but the vet said he is older now and should be fine. No way!
@dreamgaits20 күн бұрын
OMG these vets are robots! I use frontline plus generic which is sold at Wal Mart as Pet Armour Plus. I use it once every three months which is what is indicated in the very very fine print. I never see a flea or tick and we live in flea and tick country. Also, I use the least amount as possible. For example, if the dose is for a dog 23-44 pounds and my dog is between 23-30 pounds I will use the 5-22 pound dose. Less poison and works fine. This is topical I just squeeze it on between the shoulder blades.
