Does front and rear cameras record contiuously?
@gregnarez14 сағат бұрын
I see at 10 minutes the front and rear record
@frenchineer14 сағат бұрын
Yes. The way it works is it records a clip of a certain length (like 1, 3 or 10 minutes), then starts recording a new clip immediately so you don't have to work with giant files. When the memory card gets full, it automatically deletes the oldest clip to keep recording your trips.

They are getting bigger and bigger! I've been looking for the smallest one available, ideally 3 to 4 inches but the manufacturers are just going in the wrong direction.

What are the symptoms of worn steering rods, today mine started making noise while turning. very nice video, please tell me if it will be much more difficult to replace them in the driveway?
@frenchineer2 күн бұрын
If you jack up a corner you can grab the wheel and see if it feels loose when you move it side to side. This should help too: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKOsY5mbjs54n5osi=bU_zYRdcJQTtrJTe If you need to replace the tie rods, it should be possible in the driveway doing one side at a time, but keep in mind that you will also need to get an alignment once you are done.
@marcinwarakomski8322Күн бұрын
Yeap, alignment, of course, when I raise the car I can check it by moving the wheel, it's quite easy. I'm just wondering whether to replace the samoa tip at once or together with the middle part? I was more interested in diagnosis before lifting the car.

What connectors did you use to tap into the reverse light and ground for the backup camera? Thanks!

Great detailed explanation. Do you recon this one would fit the CLS ?
@frenchineer2 күн бұрын
Thanks! There should be a similar unit available for the CLS, but the mounting hardware would be different from the E-Class, so be sure to find a kit that is specific to you car! You'll also want to confirm which NTG version you have as well to get the right unit.
@AOTanoos222 күн бұрын

You could use screen mirroring with Airplay or Miracast. There are no video player apps in CarPlay or Android Auto.

Hi, thank you for the video, i just want ask you if you now how to get the controls of the sound on the steering wheel to work, and the sound of the parking sensor doest work also , can you help me please?
@frenchineer6 күн бұрын
For the sound controls, mine worked with no changes. I recommend reaching out to the manufacturer of your radio kit. The parking sensor sounds don't work with the factory amplifier bypassed, but another viewer found a solution - he made a video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oWnPpZ2XrttnptEsi=zmL7ASGofj9rXArR

@frenchineer6 күн бұрын
This is a 2006 with the 5 cylinder. It's a different engine from the 2016-2020 model which has a 4 cylinder, so the procedure and parts will not be the same.

Did you ever install the GPS antenna on the stereo?

For the S-Class? I connected it and left it behind the unit in the dash. I use Android Auto most of the time so my phone's GPS system is used instead.

Hey bro, am try to connect a kenwood stereo for my c230 just like yours, I been try to get harness Interface and connect to it just you did, can you the part number of the kit so I can order it?
@frenchineer7 күн бұрын
For this install, the harness came with the head unit, and wouldn't be suitable for a standard double DIN head unit. Do you have a C-Class with Bose or are the connectors like in my car?
@youi16443 күн бұрын
@frenchineer yes I have a 2007 c class c230 ii doesn't have any bone or KH but all the factory wire for it are out aside
@frenchineer2 күн бұрын
@@youi1644 Something like this amzn.to/3DTXOa6 would connect to the factory harness, then you would need to match the harness for the Kenwood connector included with your head unit and connect the wires.

Can you zoom pinch to zoom in on google maps using two fingers ? This was lacking in my previous car play. i had to tap + and - button, it was annoying.

@frenchineer9 күн бұрын
It's a big job! I'll be doing the valve blocks soon, because I think they're where the suspension slowly loses air over the course of a few days.
@paulhathaway62929 күн бұрын
@@frenchineer It's ironic that the reason that the car rides so well is the same reason that they have virtually zero value if the system isn't maintained. Not rocket science and parts are surprisingly available, and frankly not that expensive compared to modern cars. Thanks to videos like yours these cars can represent an amazing opportunity for people who know how to use tools.

are you still able to listen to the regular FM radio music while using the Apple car play through the vehicles speakers at the same time?
@frenchineer11 күн бұрын
I'm not sure you could use two audio sources for your car speakers, but if you want to have the radio on and still hear navigation from CarPlay, you could use the on board speakers on the unit.

Hi I'm from the UK how much did the set up cost and have you product part numbers etc, Great installation look forward to reverse camera video..
@frenchineer12 күн бұрын
The two kits I used are linked in the video description and are currently 193 GBP for the main kit (logic 7 + screen retention) and 189 GBP for the subwoofer amplifier kit (both prices with VAT). Also, InCarTec is based in the UK! For the head unit, you can choose whichever brand and model you prefer, so make your kit selection based on the brand you plan to use (and your sound system specs) so you get the correct steering wheel adapter cable and adapter harnesses.

@frenchineer18 күн бұрын
In that case you could probably use a battery bank instead. Another option if you're into DIY would be to find the fuse for a switched circuit and use an add-a-fuse kit and a 12V socket.
