This is an amazing video! If your car has Bluetooth audio, it will support Bluetooth streaming. If you don’t want to run an audio cable, you can use a Bluetooth audio dongle with the auxiliary jack, provided your car supports Bluetooth calling. Keep in mind that NavTool is currently the only product in the world that allows for a plug-and-play installation without cutting any wires. We also have detailed instructions available for newer Range Rovers. There's no need to disassemble the screen into multiple pieces. If your car has Bluetooth audio, it will support Bluetooth streaming and calling. And if your car has built in Bluetooth audio, you will be able to use steering wheel controls to skip music.

Navtool website is aweful . Do they have a 2012 L322 solution?
@frenchineer3 ай бұрын
They do have an option for 2012 models here: www.navtool.com/land-rover-range-rover-2010-2012-apple-carplay.aspx But I don't know what the installation process is like for those, though the product page says it should connect by the screen controller and not behind the actual screen.

@@byulacrosse9225 I have been looking for the same thing I have a 2012 and its been driving me crazy since we dont have all of that in the trunk, i reached out to navtool and all they say is its plug and play but not where or how

Hi Nick, thank you for the video! Was it sponsored by Navtool? Reason I ask is they get really bad marks for customer service, abd ease of installation, but I have to admit your video makes it look great! Curious how you’re liking it since the install.
@frenchineerАй бұрын
Hi! This wasn't sponsored, I purchased it myself! I had seen their original install guide and expected to need to splice into the coax cable as they did, but the new cables were a nice surprise. I also thought I would need to add a wireless CarPlay/AA dongle, but like you saw in the video that wasn't necessary. I've been enjoying it so far! The main limitation is the resistive touchscreen which is not as responsive as more modern screens, but it's worth the tradeoff to me since it retains all the other factory displays. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Navtool is essentially a scam company. Worse than used car salesmen. Only reason to buy the product is because it's the only option lol. Dealing with them is essentially dealing with the russian mafia.

Great video. Do the steering wheel controls work too? Skip tracks etc?
@frenchineer2 ай бұрын
The volume works (since we're connecting audio into the AUX input), but the next/previous track buttons don't tie in to the new interface. They'll still work on the CD player and the other factory functions.
@paulstring2 ай бұрын
Is there a way to wire it to the AUX cable that must already go back to the A/V equipment from the AUX jack? Maybe using a butt splice connector? I realize that this would make the AUX jack inoperable, but it would be a cleaner install.
@frenchineer2 ай бұрын
I'm not sure! I think if you were able to locate the AUX jack wiring you might be able to splice in a second input behind a panel, but you'd need to be sure you wired in the L, R, and ground properly. I think it might be worth running the AUX extension under the carpet into the trunk with the regular connection location.

It looks like they have an option for it! There may be differences in the install but Navtool should be able to tell you what to expect. www.navtool.com/land-rover-range-rover-2003-2004-apple-carplay.aspx

Hi Nick, can you tell me which Hardware Version (NBT or non NBT) and Software version you are using? I have an NBT 6 with SW 7.5 and the Navtool doesn't work at all. I have a blue steady light in the box while ignition is on position 2. If I put the NAV button nothing happens. Thanks and cheers

The hardware tag is NBT-LG4-C-CP and software version is 7.5. Are you pressing and holding the NAV button to switch over?

What is the purpose of the AUX cable ?
@frenchineer3 ай бұрын
The interface doesn't output sound via the navigation connections, so it needs to be connected to the AUX input to get the audio to the speakers for CarPlay and Android Auto.

@@frenchineer ohhhhh, when you make a phone call using carplay does it work normal using the cars microphone for the car play or do calls go through the cars bluetooth?'
@frenchineer3 ай бұрын
It should use the car's microphone with CarPlay! In the settings you can also toggle "use original bluetooth audio" which may use the car's bluetooth for sound output, but I haven't tested that (you can see the settings at 22:43).

It's by model year, so the unit I used should work for the 09 as well. If you want to be 100% sure I recommend emailing Navtool to confirm.
