An entire battalion of infantry and supporting equipment, 1500 Marines is just doable for a US Marine Expeditionary Unit(Specops Capable) with dozens of craft. One single Star Destroyer can carry close to an entire DIVISION of stormtroopers and vehicles/weaponry, AND having the air wing of an aircraft carrier?? A bit much, don't you think?

Interesting. So the biggest guns on the ship, both Imp I and II were mounted facing port and starboard. In essence, giving the ship one heck of a broadside, much like a ship from the Age of Sail. Instead of say a WWII battleship, where the biggest guns were mounted to fire forward.

I think the would be Rebellion didn't factor in the weapon upgrade: the ISD 1 was designed during the Clone Wars and was equipped with giant ion cannons because the CIS made heavy use of droid automation in their warships, making them especially vulnerable to those ion weapons (same reason the Republic used ionized tibanna in their blaster and turbolaser), and the ISD 2 was designed when the CIS' droid armies were long gone so they changed the weapons to deal with whatever extragalactic barbarian Palpatine used to justify his military build up.

Ah. You’re a TIE Tube guy. I’ve gone back and forth. I like the tie racks shown in newer content, but those indents- well they’re roughly 14 meters long, just long enough for the small troop landers we see in Mando. I’d lean towards those more. The cross section and then the canon TIE racks explain the fighter number in several ways. What’s unaccounted for is how many trips you’d need, even if the entire main hanger was FILLED with sentinels, to actually deploy the troop compliment. So, I like to think the ceiling TIE tubes would be used for troop craft more likely. Then again, in legends we could at least point to the cross section. In canon, pretty much every game, TV show, comic, hell even the first aftermath book says wedge was captured in “bay 72” or something. Where the hell would that be?! I’ve been doodling a grid in photoshop at work just to see how much physical space these areas could actually take up

Ah, the good old myth of the shield domes. At this point I think it will never die. The ISD model creators themselves described them as sensor domes, which makes a lot more sense of course. Especially when you compare the star destroyer line to any other ship which somehow don't need external shield generators.

Something I still never understood about that scene to this day is why the hell were there cars on the ferry? dim the EMP they set off the power including cars? Nobody should have gave a damn about the cars and focus purely on transporting people across the river. I actually feel bad for the poor souls that actually got in some of them thinking it was going to save them but they ultimately ended up drowning in them.

Question: how are you supposed to hit the shield generators when the shields are active? I get why fighters are effective, particle shields take a while to be raised and most captains prefer to keep them down when unused due the energy consumption, so a sudden fighter can get a torpedo in... But otherwise, you first need to take the shields down. That's what happened at Endor, the Executor was being battered by fireships (mentioned in the novelization. Ackbar was terrifying...) until the shields went down briefly and the generators got torpedoed.

This is very unrealistic, the only the machines could have won against humanity was if all of mankind's leaders were mentally incapable. This would make much more sense if the war of machine against man was in the post-apocalypse and the nanite sky was result of WW3, this would also make a human defeat much more reasonable since it wouldn't be a david vs goliath but david had no sling kind of fight
