Yummy, I like to use them in beef stew and when I make vegetables stock. Thanks for sharing your recipes, Helga. 🙂♥️

Helga: LOVE Parsnips, but I've found them to be waaaay too expensive. I do basically the same thing with carrots. Much cheaper. Thank you though. This got my taste buds screaming for parsnips. God bless from Berwick: Dave

I remember the first time I had stuffed pig stomach. That was about 40 years ago. A girl I was dating at the time, invited me over for a family dinner and this is what they made (minus the carrots). I wasn't sure I really wanted to even try it, but I did and I loved it! When they made it, the skin was really crispy! It was the best part. I found out that Laudermilch Meats, west of Annville, PA on Rt 422, sells it already stuffed. Since I moved out of state, I've been craving it. I did see that my local grocery store had some pig stomachs for sale in the meat department. So now I'm going to have to get one or two and make it myself, for the first time. Thanks for making it a point that we use cotton thread instead of a poly thread. I would've never known to only use cotton thread. Thanks Helga!!

Never making this. No issue with the stomach or filling. But I hate sewing! Ha, ha. Thanks for showing this dish. Hi from rainy Oregon.

I believe this is my favorite meal. We always made 2 of them, one with the sausage and potatoes, and one with bread filling (stuffing). But, I have to add celery to both. Thank you for sharing this. I buy my stomachs in the freezer section at Shady right beside the meat case. They are large, always clean. I just thaw them and they are ready to stuff.

I've usually seen these stomach casings boiled. I think roasted is a better way. Avagoodday Helga.

I live in the Lancaster area and this is where I was first introduced to this meal. It sounds bad but I braved it and tried the filling and boy was that delicious 😋.

I love the fact people can bring their own unique twists to food and yet still be included in the greatness of just the tradition of it all you do a really good job of presenting that

Always so good to see a new video from our dear friend Helga, even if it's not one I'll be trying at home (offal ain't my thing, tho you did a great job!) Great to hear your Mike in the background! It's fascinating to see these old recipes, and be reminded how spoiled we are today. Most people are used to the convenience foods they buy ready made from the supermarket to produce dinner, and wouldn't dream of making something like this from scratch that you (partly )buy from a butcher. That's a shame, a recipe like this is simple, healthy, hearty, and feeds a lot of people. I so hope we'll have some more of your wonderful Christmas content in the coming weeks. Much love to you and yours from the UK! XXX
