Awesome solution and awesome video/narration. I’ve been watching a variety of videos on this topic as I’m about to build one for our campervan (after having a Dometic travel toilet in there that the original DIY builders put in that we don’t use because it uses water, then requires dumping the tank.) Be sure to watch Travel Snacks’s (solo female vanlifer) video on the same subject if you haven’t already, it’s excellent.

Corbin fiber filament usually is weaker that the non-carbon fiber filament because you are contaminating the pure filament, but if it works it works🤷

Wow! Really like this vidéo! I have a really small camper and Im thinking about a set up like this but I would like to know, is it possible to go back to sofa when you are in bed position without getting out of bed? The bed will take all the space in my camper. Thank you

Where do you get the wool insulation?

Interesting video. Just wondering about sound barrier on the floor. Also is adhesive enough to make sure no movement on floor over years with sudden starts and stops? Also wondering if what to do if you want thicker insulation on floor? Also wondering about electricity is you have already paneled the wall, ceiling and floor. We were thinking of putting a tube in ceiling that we can fish electric wires through and not panneling on sides until electric finished. Also if there was any plumbing that might go through wall.

Great design. Saves space and optimizes your van build. Awesome. PS. But why use Phillips screws?? Torx..... use Torx.

What brand/were did you get the spray bottle? Can you give weight/volume of iso and cornstarch? Ive tried twice and my bottles keep clogging. Not sure if I have bad ratio or if the bottle doesnt like the suspension.

Do you recommend using the 3D scanner spray? Have you used it/seen how much it affects the final product?
@robertmartin2936
@robertmartin2936 10 күн бұрын
Talc sprays (IMO and using guestimate numbers) make like a 40% difference for capturing detail accurately. I have a DIY scanner I built using arducam, and the results are significant. However having used both, I would say instead of the $35usd special order spray, go to the pharmacy or grocery and pick up a $5 spray can of dry shampoo. They're chemically the same material, it's just that the specialist stuff has different rates the bonding agents are formulated to evaporate after use. If the difference with or without spray is 40%, then the difference between a $35 can vs a $5 dry shampoo is about 2% to 5%

why would you use an external? especially in such a small application the internal wastegate is more than perfect
@IMEEMADE
@IMEEMADE 11 күн бұрын
I agree the internal is more than perfect. The only reason I went external was for space reasons. The turbo wouldn’t fit in the space with the internal wg attached so I chose to go external and gain an extra couple inches of clearance.

While the video and the final result are cool, as others pointed out, you need your reverse lights, and it will certainly be a nightmare to replace dead lights.

3:40 for future projects that don't involve carbon fiber, I recommend not using superglue. It does not hold up to UV or heat and will fail before the ASA. I recommend plastic weld staples. They're not pretty but they hold a lot better than you'd expect, and you can always just sand and bondo the melted portions.

Could you explain how you use the point cloud from the 3D scan as a guide to "fit" the new fender design on them. In the video you only show the frontal view, which is intuitive but i don't see how the point cloud data get part fo your design so that the new fender fit snug against the car body. Would love to try something like that.
@IMEEMADE
@IMEEMADE Ай бұрын
Yes I made a quick video on my instagram. You can use the “pull” command in Fusion to get each point on the fender model to attach to the 3D scanned mesh.
