I wonder how powerful Shantea trully is. Her transformation abilities doesn't seem to have any kind of limit (She can transform into a war tank). In Half Genie Here, Shantae tecnically manages to defeat 4 genies at once in the final battle. Not only that, in the Seven Sirens, she manages to defeat the Seventh Siren, wich not even a full genie manages to defeat.

Nights uses he/him pronouns so I see him as male adjacent. He only got a female voice in the Wii game. His previous games were always referred to he/him. Raefa calls him by he/him pronouns. No one in game is calling Nights a female or female adjacent.

Picked up a couple of Saturns this past year for the first time in my life. Nights into dreams came in about a week ago and honestly needed this explanation to get me into it because playing it myself fit the first few times, I didn’t have a clue about what was going on. Saturn btw I’ve happily learned is just as underrated as the Dreamcast. Love this system.

Amy Rose seems to be partially inspired by Harley Quinn in her more modern incarnations. Think about it: giant-ass hammer, mostly red outfit and a somewhat obsessive one-sided "romantic" fascination with her employer. All we need now is for Amy to abandon Team Sonic for a female Mobian character with plant control powers and the homage will be complete.

I'm surprised I'm not the only one who actually likes Labyrinth, at least artistically. Gameplay-wise, it's a mess, but conceptually? It's the most gorgeous zone of S1. As for Star Light Zone, it's also my favourite of S1, mainly due to the fact that it always made me dream. I don't know why. Perhaps the fact that the PAL version was slow so the music had kind of that... oniric feeling? And speaking of favourites, my S2 favourite is Aquatic Ruin, because, well... that level is just beautiful.

i have tried playing the game before but always get stuck on the boss battles bc they're really difficult for me to figure out, it is really fun flying around but sucking at things sucks

I'm so mad that while the game itself is still for sale on PS3, the dynamic theme (PS3 equivalent of a desktop wallpaper for those who don't know) isn't, despite still being listed in the PS Store, complete with a price, AND being able to be added to the cart, only to say "This product is not available at this time". THEN WHY IS IT STILL IN THE STORE?!

This game is so fun. I got a NiGHTS Saturn bundle when it was brand new and so it didn't have a manual with it. I had no idea what the hell I was doing but I had a blast with it. I'm only just now getting close to beating it. It nailed the arcade type of play (easy to get into to and to learn but take a while to master the strategy). Sega and Saturn deserve/d better.

This is so sad... I found this video today. And you convinced me enough as to see if I could afford to buy this game. I hadn't been on the news of Sega deslisting classic games from steam, specially 'cuz I've been without a job for a while, so I couldn't bother about spending on entertainment, but since there's a sale going, and it's the holidays, I was like "oh, lets see if it's cheap now~" and I get hit with "NiGHTS Into Dreams is no longer available on the Steam store." OTL I'm so sad... Is my second time this week. Oh well... such is life.

It saddens me that this game alongside others like Crazy Taxi will now be delisted after tonight (06/12/2024.). I had to watch this documentary thoroughly and remember this gem for what it was.

Back in the 90s this game was just pure magic! The 3D graphics, the music, the whimsical flying gameplay, the chilled vibe.... Proper 3D gaming was all still relatively new back then, especially for a borderline Generation X-er like myself, who had grown up playing and watching the graphics and music changing over time from 8 bit machines like Amstrad CPC464 and C64, through to the Amiga and then PC. Playing this game was mesmerising, and literally was a mesmerising experience. Even if you didn't fully know what you were doing, it was just the whole experience of the game and the magical world you were flying around. You kinda had to be there.

Came back to this old video with a new found appreciation for how this little game I played before I was a teenager, understood some of the deep mental issues even children endure. I didn't suffer from anxiety much in my childhood but as I grew up, learning more about myself has changed my perception of my past in a much more clarifying way. It's nice that such a game can be so subtle about it and still nail it to the core.

Windy Valley is also the level that's most like NiGHTS style and music haha. Coincidence? I think not. Also, shout out to Twinkle Park's roller coaster.

I grabbed this on Steam because it was getting delisted and realized I never understood the gameplay mechanics entirely. Just watched your video and wow! This might just be the best pitch I’ve ever heard for why someone should play a game. Very compelling, your enthusiasm for the game is articulated in such a way that you made me want to play it and understand it much more. Thank you for making this video.
