5:02 I see Lutwala Dive Resort at the very top of the map on Gili Trawangan. You need to try them out. Diving, great bungalows, The Tipsy Goat bar, beautiful sunsets, beach and PONIES. The owners are Joe & Tori Taylor and along with their guest accomodations & diving, they also run the horse rescue organization, Horses of Gili. They look out for the health and welfare of the working ponies on all the Gili Islands. They're definitely worth a visit. You have spread a bit of misinformation about the working ponies pulling the Cidomos (horse carts) you said to avoid. They are, by law, only allowed to work 4 hours a day, 6 days a week, with one day off and they're monitored by the government and Horses of Gili. They are not dehydrated, they get plenty of water before and after their shifts and they take breaks during their 4 hour shifts between customers. If you have eaten on the Gili Islands, that food was hauled by ponies. If you have drunk beverages, they were brought to the bars by ponies. If you have stayed under a roof, THAT was also brought by pony cart. Everything on the islands was transported via pony cart. So even if you don't hire a Cidomo to get around, you are, in essence, helping support the working ponies of the island. If you're concerned about their welfare, pay a visit to Tori Taylor at Lutwala Dive. She gives tours at the Horses of Gili rescue organization (call and get an appointment) and she will give you an education about what she's doing for the working ponies, and how conditions have improved over the years, and what life is like for them now, and how you can help. I am a regular donor because Tori is doing the work of angels for those horses.

Oh, for heaven’s sake! If the eatery was full of jolly fellow tourists, why didn’t you strike up a conversation with a few of them and compare notes? That gang from Jakarta with the matching t-shirts look like they could have been a lot of fun.

It is nice to see British person driving in Bali. I plan to rent a car from the airport to Seidman. How was Driving in general people? Give it a bad rap. I find the way people are driving in London is crazy.

Old biker here - you did well - no boring passages and no stupid movies or AI blend ins. You are way wiser than the crowd of today. You could tell your height as I ride a 1200cc bike and it is small under me (wish I was kidding) - I rode many "Honda Dreams" in Thailand. Thank you son and yes I subscriped and liked!

I appreciate the comment! It's a coincidence you'd say that today actually, since riding the loop a couple of years ago I've gotten my full license and I'm about to ride it again in two weeks on a CB500x!

@@RyanLeeBanks I envy you! I made my first bike license in 1980, lived in many places and riding was always, what made me more "touchable", esp when I had our dog in the tankpack. Tipps: In Thailand I sunburned my hands and lower arms (as wind pushed shirt up). I had old socks - get my hands in and cut a hole for the thumb (which is under the steering in the shadow). Consider a rain-combi. I used it f.e. to cross the Andes in rain and no rain. It keeps the cold out and is not that much luggage. And son, become a biker - not a car driver on bike. Ever heard of horizons-unlimited? (HUBB, regional, SE Asia) - see you in a next video.

Great info Mate. I spend 3-5 months a yr in Bali. I only eat local foods, I do have ice, salads etc never had an issue. I never use the left hand to hand over cash, never walk on offerings , always dress appropriately, & I do spend time on the Gili Islands, Lovina Lombok, Tabanan etc . I spend a few days in Ubud & Legian on each trip..

The waves can certainly be pretty crazy from Bali to the Gili's. Out of the 5 or 6 times I've made this crossing maybe 2 or 3 times have been pretty rough. So prepare some motion sickness tablets if you suffer!
