Bought this game because I found out it was inspired by brutalist architecture- and I love this style. The Oldest House is specifically took design inspiration by 33 Thomas St in NYC. The ATT "Long Lines" building that has been repurposed as an NSA listening station. That building is fascinating and has this massively oppressive facade. The concept of The Oldest House was borrowed from a great book. House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. Most people do not read anymore, but I highly recommend this book if you enjoyed the concept and story in these types of games. Also HP Lovecraft obviously. Lastly, The game has a great soundtrack and sound design. Incredibly immersive. Absolutely GoTY worthy :D

It reminds of streets of rage 1 2 3 on the Sega Genesis and Robocop versus the terminator on the Sega Genesis

Great Review, just started playing it. I am in like 4 hrs, setting, atmosphere and world building are truly fantastic. Gameplay is also very nice, great platforming elements, a bit too many difficult jump sections for my liking😂

It was crazy man me my brother sister and mom were doing the special world levels and we were dying too many times my mom was screaming because of how close she is of getting hit from the enemies there’s allot going on

Me my brother and sister did a few special world levels and other secret levels and we were dying like crazy the special world levels gave us so much time to win the one that we struggled the most is Deep Magma Bog Special Solar Roller the difficulty of that level is 5 stars I lost count how many times we died it was so hard that we need to move extremely fast before the timer goes off I remember all three of was died at the same time when we were confused of where to go we were playing that game today at night time and in 12 something in the morning we’ll continue where we left off tomorrow!

The first game I ever played from suda 51 is no more heroes and ive first learned of this game through the og resident evil 4 because there’s a gun in the game called the killer 7!

I am also an Atari 2600 & 7800 fan and I have Solar Storm to play with paddle controllers in my collection and it is a great Imagic game, and probably one of my top 40 out of my 250+ collection of Atari games.

Just gonna give my perspective as someone who likes the games. The big thing to note, it's an score attack game. That being said I'm more of an GV2, Ix1 and GV3 fan than GV1. If you want something closer to Megaman X I highly recommend Gravity Circuit. It's a great blend of the X and Zero series. That game became a quick favorite of mine.

I never knew this game existed till i found a copy of the ps2 vers in a charity shop, i love it when i find unexpected under the radar games and it was a lot of fun to play :)

Bad ports of decent fighting games but also bad review. Longest combo shown in the video is 2 hits. Great collection tho.
