Pro-tip for the Warthog: always oversteer. Oversteering in the warthog is generally going to result in the right amount of turn you need.

Glad you had fun playing this finally. I was really into the first three games. It is worth noting that the Halo facilities were never meant to be traversed by anything humanoid. They were designed as weapons and run by levitating AI's and Sentinels. I think with the level design, they were more interested in creating something cyclopian and alien. Trying to hint at the vastness of the Halo installations. In later games, you visit temples, and other installations that were meant to be traversed and I think they had some decent designs. As for the Covenant being silly. [SPOILER ALERT] They are cult members..lol You are not really fighting another army, you are fighting a space death cult that stole advanced technology from another extinct species. If you consider them, and their hierarchy, in this POV it makes sense how ridiculous they are. Why you always find them sleeping or just hanging out. They would have collapsed centuries ago if not for their weaponry and advanced space travel. Looking forward to you playing the others in this series. Cheers!

What I liked about the level design, personally, was that it felt like you were travelling all alone through a large unknown world. It was kind of peaceful. I was also 11 and it was my first real exposure to first-person-shooters. And the flood changed me.

It never really felt that way to me. Maybe it was because I've played 20 years of first person shooters... but it just felt like they forgot to fill the area with assets

Halo CE is a classic, halo 2 improves on it a lot and halo 3 is an absolute masterpiece in my opinion.

I'd certainly say Halo 2 is a pretty consistent refinement of CE. The levels are generally a lot more interesting. The Covenant is also tuned a bit and fleshed out story wise to give them more of a understanding. It seems Bungie took criticism of flipped levels and repeating room layout to heart. Nothing like the Library, where any one hall can be confused for five other ones. There are a few layouts that do repeat, most notably in forerunner locations, but I find it doesn't overstay it's welcome. They are also shorter, with the longest ones being about 25 minutes long. I think 7 is pretty fair to CE. It's my least favorite of the original trilogy, partly because of it's primitiveness. Oh and you might like the changed handling on the vehicles. Get used to the steering method, but it may be easier for you in the future.

I had to stop watching the stream because the guys in comments were pissing me off, game sucked, dated, “controls bad”(LOL). Halo is one of the best shooters of all time, controls were on point man! Any haters are probably pokemon nerds

@@RNGGaming-nv6zi worst game ever made! Pokemon is number 1!! Steal those monsters like human trafficking and force the slaves to fight for you! Ha ha, I will never play a game where to kidnap monsters or people and hold them against their will! Halo has no graphic bugs or issue like modern games, call of duty is trash. Remember I’m an old guy, grumpy, I dislike when guys say silly things like my 1986 Monte Carlo SS is old junk, “should buy a tesla”, “half life 2 is trash!!!! Compared to pokemon!” I like old cars, women from 80s compared to today, older games that have no nonsense in them etc. I’m grumpy!
