I only had the a7iv for a few days, had to return it because non of my flashes or triggers fit the hot shoe... I didn't have that problem with the a7iii... so what about this camera? Does it have a tight hot shoe?
@benjhaisch10 сағат бұрын
Hmmm… they all have been the same for me tbh. Sony has those extra contacts in the Mi shoe and they’ve been tighter than other systems, but I feel like they’ve all been the same

This was also my first serious camera i bought. After that i bought the successor 5D II because of the higher megapixel count and the superimpressive video capabilities. BUT i always thought that the colors were somewhat different. Not so nice than before. After time went by Mirrorless came up and i sold my original 5D. Looking back it’s the same as you said, some of my nicest pictures I did on that camera. Now i just bought a used one with the nifty fifty for about 250 USD. I can‘t wait until i get it. It will be my fun camera with supernice colors. For more serious stuff i have my Sony or Fuji Camera.

Hi Benj. For those with the 907x but without much knowledge of traditional Hasselblad film cameras, is there a Hasselblad film camera and lens combo that you would recommend to use with the 907x that incorporates the traditional Hasselblad waist level viewfinder and provides the nicest shooting experience? Thank you.

"I'm curious about the lens and was watching KZbin videos, but since I don't understand English, I mainly looked at the results in pictures and comments. I'm sorry, but could you explain using the comments? Comments are translated into Korean, so I think I can understand them easily. XCD lenses are quite expensive, so I can't afford them, and I was wondering if there are any third-party lenses, and that's when I found out about this lens. It's a Chinese product, so I'm skeptical about its reliability, but is the product quality decent? I found this review of the lens: 'Provides excellent bokeh effects and shallow depth of field, outstanding performance in low-light situations, offers a wide aperture like f/1.4 in medium format, producing unique results.' I'm really curious about reviews from KZbinrs who have actually used this lens. I can't understand the content by listening to the videos because I don't know English. Sorry." This message expresses your interest in learning more about the Zhongyi Mitakon Speedmaster 65mm f/1.4 lens, particularly seeking information from KZbin video comments due to language barriers. You're exploring alternatives to more expensive XCD lenses and are cautious about the quality of this third-party Chinese-made lens. You found a review praising its optical qualities but seek more user experiences.

I’ve shot a few weddings but I’m not a full time professional - why primes? I always have a prime on me of course, but I find ride open they lose a sense of place too easily and I’m on the 24-70 and 70-200 a lot.

I see so many professional photographers, at least in DC area, hiding Sony logs on their cameras but not Canon and Nikon. I am curious as to why. Is it because they are ashamed to admit that they are shooting with Sony gears?

What of the legion of complaints against the M11 series cameras regarding freezing, and glitches? I had really bad AF on my Q3, but after the most recent FWU it's vastly better. But as I lusted for an M11m, I have seen way too many negative comments about M11's across the board. Would I be better off with an M10m?

Thank you for a nice review. Unless I am mistaken, I do not think you mentioned pre-capture. That is a huge upgrade for anyone shooting sports or animals (like birds). That said, I am not sure there is a high demand for pre-capture in the wedding market (your primary review perspective). All the best.

Your comparison of the M11 and the Q3 was quite fair and refreshingly straightforward without too much tech talk. My love affair with Leica began ten years ago with the original Q and has grown with each new release. I'm now shooting with the Q3-43, which is perfect for me. I once aspired to the pinnacle of the Leica experience and have tried using my neighbor's M11, but I cannot get used to the rangefinder system.

A1II is to expensive for me, I will stick with the A7IV, but A9III is interesting for sports, but I can't afford it. 120fps is goign to be great. But I'm curious what's the rumored A7V will offer. Meanwhile I will invest in Filters, lenses. But usually I manage to nail the shot with the A7IV, but with the A9III one can just bombard it and get the many perfect shots.

As a career police officer, (and now crime scene photographer), I definitely do not recommend this course of action. If you have ever had to fight two guys at once, you will know what I am talking about. It is a losing proposition. Thieves consider anything they took as theirs. Even if it is yours, they look at it like you are now trying to take what is theirs. Street thieves are not just thieves, they are involved in all kinds of crime and are not strangers to physical confrontation. I am glad you got your stuff back.

I really want to like the A7CR. I see it open box for about 2100 bucks, which is relatively affordable for me. I would much prefer the A7R V, but the price is too high even though its 2 years and counting since launch. I'm sure the EVF alone probably adds $300 to the build. But anyways, i'm really on the fence with the A7CR. I have a 6400 (and a G9) and lots of glass for both, and I really like the idea of being able to use my smaller longer reach aps-c glass on the a7cr, although maybe none of that glass is good enough to make a difference. Besides that, the other pro is using these new sony primes, add clear image zoom that turns those into prime zooms, the 60mp is super interesting for that. Why am I hesitating? Well, it's still about 2400 with tax for just the body, way cheaper than the a7rV, but then if I buy a few "optimised" lenses, that price balloons quickly. As far as burst rates, I do like sports and moving objects, so getting less fps than the a6400 and a6000 i had in 2014, even in aps-c mode, is a bit of a dealbreaker. If Sony could limit the sensor readout to the aps-c area in aps-c mode (i assume they don't since the burst rate is same max as full sensor right?) and up the burst rate to 12 or 15 fps even in jpg only, that would be a big plus for me, despite the jello fear with lateral movement, another concern from past trauma. Then there's the shitty evf. I have the same resolution i think in the 6400, the 7CR CR has a bit better specs and brightness, but still. I never use the LCD and couldn't care less about it, and have progressed from 1mp to 2 then 3.5 MP evfs, longed for 5mp, hard to go back. And then I think of the big brother, with its 10mp beast; it's like there's Wagyu A5 dangling in front of me but my wallet is looking at the sirloin. Then there's noise fears- I live in the m43 world too, so hearing comments about low light performance again, with one of the most advanced FF cams on the planet isn't fun. The other "issue" is the cost, size and weight of very FAST good enough glass on a compact body (ignoring the moderately fast aforementioned compact primes). I've seen some guys using a 100-400mm on it, pretty ridiculous, but sure, I get it. Why not? at least as a secondary use case? After all that, I'm still itching to get a CR for some reason. As a stills cam mainly I guess, for urban travel and street especially, although I did see Jared's 7CR success with pro baseball shots. I sort of want this mini hi-res swiss army knife that the a7cr is. Despite the cons, I'm still considering it, there's some magic to it. This other guy said it's like his A7R V had a baby, with a soul. He leaves the a7rv in the studio as a tool cuz he never feels like lugging it around, souless piece of muted design, but the joy of walking around came back to him with the silver color 7CR. I have that joy with the 6400 too even though its all black, has no ibis but a handy little fill flash. Please talk me out of it, lol.

Thanks for the review very interesting to get your insights. I have a Q3 and Q3-43 and have put the screw dot on both, looks fine. I have had an M 10 and M11, but could not take to them so moved on and got an SL-2S and now replaced with the SL3. This is great for the M lenses I have and of course the SL lenses. I recently got an M246 Monocrom (the Leitz limited edition) just as an investment and somewhere to hang the M lenses and to my great surprise I absolutely love shooting with it. Once the M bug gets you it’s hard to resist and I think I’m now won over……..will I sell the Q’s? Probably not I love using them, but they have stayed it their bag and I mostly now take the M246 out for street shots, keep the Q’s for short travel trips etc.
