In the lore if remember correctly there is a reference that the old Emperor Anzai was assassinated by a plot orchestrated by Longen to control the Empire with the collusion of the Nobles. Disagree with you on their economy, UC do have a thriving middleclass of shop owners and what could be considered kulacks or successful farmers. Because poverty is illegal which means that the commoners are not poor, if they were they would be enslaved. That doesn't mean you're wrong in that there is no real economic protection, if you're not on the good side of the nobles or trading guild then you will most likely lose your property very fast and agree that they would fail their happiness criteria with peasent revolt, but not all peasents are revolting and not all commoners are poor because like stated poverty is illegal. Can't say I or you are 100% right, it's only a point hope you will take into consideration when thinking about the UC society.

Awesome video, love the lore tangents. That the lore is like you said rooted in scifi but also have that almost perfect balance of vague references to the past and clear lore, but also conflicting lore makes it so much fun exploring the world, reading about the world and even discussing the world. Kenshi reddit is very fun almost every faction can be seen as the "good guys" or "the bad guys". Argued by nerds, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I bet people would still want to see those videos with a little bit of modded lore to supplement gray areas. I was telling my gf about the Hivers the other day and the fog praetorians (Universal Wastleand Expansion) having Hiver eggs on them is such a natural answer to how the dead hive continues to exist in mass numbers. The whole fog parasite thing never made sense to me as a way to form brainless armies yet be limited to the fog lands; especially while your own Hivers who visit are perfectly fine (losing a limb doesn’t count lmao).

I think that there multiplayer should be only private and max 2-4 people. It fixes the problem with speed up time because I think it’s fine if 2-4 people will just agree when to speed up or not to . And with a world state, because you’re probably going to play together and stuff

im making an outpost in the fog island, i was hoping the holy Nation raid would be funny 🤣, but instead 1 by 1 of my patrol team getting snatched and eaten, now im with war with the fogmen and holy Nation, its not funny anymore 😅

How anyone could believe the shek kingdom can win against the forces of nature much less a well oiled machine like the holy nation is beyond me. I just explored the stenn desert for the first time today and their "cities" are literally just crumbling buildings besides admag. I dont think people realize just how fucked the shek really are. I even caught the leader of krals chosen and the gate guards, his enemies, were praising him on the way through. Meanwhile the berserkers are literally just tougher hungry bandits yet they have managed to carve out their own slice of territory from the shek kingdom. Maybe esata can build something worthwhile in the wake of the players glorious crusade against evil that inevitably destroys any shred of safety or normality left in the world but i doubt it

Honestly the southern hive are pretty cool and in my opinion they seem physically stronger than the others anyway love your videos can't wait for the others

I think youre most likely correct about the hivers. It would help explain alot about the superstition surrounding the bugmaster.

I got Kenshi later shortly after full release when most mods had been around a long while, so I don't think I ever played the full unmodded game. I do tend to stick with more Vanilla plus style mods and more quality of life changes, but it would be very easy, to have no idea what is base game, and what is not at this point.

What mysteries do you think we’ll finally learn the answers too in Kenshi 2?

By the game they are a human subrace that probably appeared on its own after a thousand years probably from places so harsh most not good at hiding, running and travelling at night just died (which is much of all of kenshi),
