Used to live here, I liked it a lot, the prices used to be brutal for any sort of shopping but I heard they swapped owners not long after I moved out. Commute was a problem going to school in Airdrie but overall it was a nice place to live at the time.

The school was closed in 2016 and needed at least $300,000 for a new roof and structural support plus an estimated $200K for other repairs. In 2019 it was torn down. I didnt even know Gleichen had a cemetery! LOL. I may have to return to see it. Thanks for visiting and thanks for the comment!

Drove through there lots of times in the late 70's and early 80's when my parents had a cabin in Hidden Valley Resort. If you would have continued South the road dips into a valley, you go over a blue trestle bridge that crosses the Bow River, a few hundred yards further was the entrance. All of it got wiped out by the 2013 flood. It was never rebuilt because of issues between the Resort ownership and Siksika Nation. I must say the town and area look better now than back then.
