You were far more conscientious about taking care of your cards as a kid than 99.9% of us. Those are gorgeous! I rubber-banded cards from 1971 through probably 1981 when I finally discovered card boxes, sleeves and pages.

For us guys in our 40s, Griffey is our Mantle. The #1 hobby guy of the era with no one else even a close 2nd, just like Mantle is for the 50's and 60's.

Great Griffeys Orlando. Was lucky enough to witness him win the HR Derby in '98.

Griffey is just one of those beloved players. I only could pull a couple 1989 Griffey cards back in the day. Just didn't have the luck.

Forgot to mention, @13:44 - CSG grades the Sports Card Magazine cut-out cards now... I don't believe anyone else does, though.

Like #17! Love that you chose to showcase the kid, during that era it was only 3 must see players for me. Barry Bonds, Bo Jackson and Ken Griffey Jr. I have a PC for each of them and yours is beautiful my friend. Everyone should have a Junior collection, especially those who grew up in the era. I was 19 years old and I remember the Upper deck packs being more expensive than the rest, I could only afford two packs at the time when I pulled my Griffey Jr. rookie card.
